NFL DFS DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 15

Welcome to the Week 15 edition of our NFL DFS DraftKings GPP plays. Chances are, if you didn’t have Le’Veon Bell in your lineup for Week 14 you probably didn’t do so well. Bell exploded for a huge game in the snow, while the majority of players across the league did not live up to their fantasy projections. With bye weeks finished for all teams we again have a full slate of 16 games this week. Here’s a look at some of my top suggestions for DraftKings GPP tournaments in Week 15.

NFL DFS DraftKings GPP Plays for Week 15

DailyFantasyNerd DraftKings GPP Play of the Day

RB Bilal Powell (NYJ) vs. MIA $5,600

Powell is a hot waiver addition this week in leagues with Matt Forte dealing with a knee injury he suffered last week. Head coach Todd Bowles says Forte is “day-to-day”, but the Jets are not playing for anything at this point and it may be wise for them to let Forte sit out this one. Preseason expectations were high on Powell this season because of his high involvement in the passing game and the question marks surrounding Forte on how he would be utilized in the Jets offense. While Powell has been relatively quiet this season, his receiving ability has maintained his value. Should Forte miss Saturday night’s game against the Dolphins, Powell will be in position for another monster performance similar to last week.

Quarterbacks

Andrew Luck (IND) @ MIN $6,400

Luck was not himself last week with 3 total turnovers in a home loss to the Texans. Houston has a really good defense, and as a division rival, they have the advantage of knowing Luck very well. Luck will have to face-off against another tough defense when the Colts travel to Minnesota this week. The tough matchup is sure to leave Luck with a low ownership, making for a great contrarian play at a respectable price. The Vikings play in a dome just like the Colts do so weather will not be a factor.

Philip Rivers (SD) vs. OAK $6,200

Rivers has struggled as of late, throwing five interceptions total in just his last two games that included fumbling the ball twice. He’ll get a chance to redeem himself, however, when the Raiders come into town for an important division game for at least Oakland’s sake. Rivers burned the Raiders in Week 5 with 359 yards passing and four touchdowns thrown. With Melvin Gordon expected to be on the sidelines this coming week, the Chargers offense may lean on their veteran QB in what has the potential to become another shootout.

Other Notables: Kirk Cousins (WAS) vs. CAR $6,800, Colin Kaepernick (SF) @ ATL $5,800, Tyrod Taylor (BUF) vs. CLE $5,700

Running Backs

Devonta Freeman (ATL) vs. SF $6,700

Freeman had his worst fantasy performance of the season against the Rams last week. Of course, a lack of touches in a 42-14 blowout victory could largely be to blame. This week, Matt Ryan‘s ownership is expected to be at its’ highest, but I believe the Falcons will look to pound the run game more against the worst rushing attack in the NFL. This is a week where both Freeman and teammate Tevin Coleman could reap high fantasy production in what should be an easy victory for the Falcons.

Jay Ajayi (MIA) @ NYJ $5,700

The last time Ajayi rushed for over 100 yards was against…you guessed it, the Jets. Since his three week monster performances mid-season, Ajayi has fallen off the fantasy radar. However, with the injury to Ryan Tannehill the Dolphins will have to get the run game going again to have any shot at the playoffs. Chances are Matt Moore will look for dump off opportunities to Ajayi as well, who continues to be more involved in the passing game.

Other Notables: DeMarco Murray (TEN) @ KC $6,900, Jordan Howard (CHI) vs. GB $6,000, Thomas Rawls (SEA) vs. LA $5,900

Wide Receivers

Stefon Diggs (MIN) vs. IND $6,200

Diggs has slowed down since mid-season, largely in part of the emergence of Adam Thielen. While Thielen may be the more consistent option, Diggs has the boom-or-bust potential we typically look for in GPP tournaments. With their playoff hopes on the brink, the Vikings are likely to involve their #1 receiver more against a Colts defense that continues to give up big plays to opposing receivers.

Taylor Gabriel (ATL) vs. SF $5,600

Even though he may not receive a ton of targets, Gabriel has proved his worth in the uptempo Falcons offense. Against the 49ers, Gabriel has the potential to be a dangerous threat both receiving and rushing. The Falcons like to involve Gabriel in the run game from time to time, and against a 49ers team that gives up more rushing yards a game than any other team, he could easily break one here. Factor in his deep threat as a pass catcher, Gabriel has a very high ceiling in Week 15.

DeSean Jackson (WAS) vs. CAR $5,500

The pure definition of boom-or-bust, DeSean Jackson, is in the spotlight this Monday night, which is good news for fantasy owners. Jackson is not only playing to try and help the Redskins reach the playoffs, but he’s also playing for his next contract. He’s gone over 100 yards in two of the last three games despite not catching more than four balls since Week 7. He’ll be more than ready against a Panthers defense ranked 29th against wide receivers.

Other Notables: Davante Adams (GB) @ CHI $6,100, Sammy Watkins (BUF) vs. CLE $5,900, Tyreek Hill (KC) vs. TEN $5,700

Tight Ends

Greg Olsen (CAR) @ WAS $5,000

Olsen has not scored a touchdown in five consecutive games now, and has only three total on the season. It’s not his fault really as Cam Newton is much to blame. The effect on his low production now has him priced at his lowest point of the season. Despite the numbers, Olsen is stilling seeing his share of targets, and has at least seven in five of the last six games. What’s even better is that the Redskins are terrible against tight ends, opening the door for the possibility that this could be the week Olsen ends his end zone drought.

Other Notables: Tyler Eifert (CIN) vs. PIT $5,600, Kyle Rudolph (MIN) vs. IND $4,300, Cameron Brate (TB) @ DAL $3,800

Defense

Green Bay @ CHI $3,200

A huge part of the Packers turnaround in recent weeks has been because of their defense. After giving up 42 points to Washington in Week 11, Green Bay has held their opponents to 13 points or under in three straight contests. They held the Bears to just 10 points in Week 7, and much of the same can be expected this week. In this cold weather game, the Packers should have no problem containing an already poor Bears offense.

Other Notables: Atlanta vs. SF $3,900, Buffalo vs. CLE $3,700, Miami @ NYJ $3,200
