NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 14
Welcome to the Week 14 edition of the NFL DFS FanDuel GPP plays. This article will focus on the main slate on FanDuel, which features 14 games this week. Just as a reminder, this article is not meant to be an actual FanDuel GPP lineup, but rather an article focusing on some good stand alone options for your GPP lineup. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite GPP options for Week 14.
NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 14
DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel GPP Play of the Day
Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) @ NYG $8,500
Even though he is significantly cheaper than Bell and Johnson, I believe that Ezekiel Elliott will come in at lower ownership than those two in GPP contests. If that’s the case, I will gladly take the league’s leading rusher at lower ownership and a lower salary. Elliott has been absolutely amazing this season and there is no reason to believe he is going to slow down anytime soon, especially against the Giants who have likely lost Jason Pierre-Paul for the rest of the season.
Quarterbacks
Colin Kaepernick (SF) vs. NYJ $7,200
Colin Kaepernick had by far his worst game of the season last week against the Bears completing only one of his five passing attempts for four yards and only adding 20 yards of rushing. I believe the poor performance was due to the snowy weather in Chicago. If I’m not mistaken, that was Kaepernick’s first ever game played in the snow. He should be able to bounce back in a great matchup at home against the Jets and I imagine he will have pretty low ownership.
Marcus Mariota (TEN) vs. DEN $7,900
Marcus Mariota has an extremely difficult matchup against the Broncos this week which will likely drive down ownership in GPPs. However, Mariota has been outstanding since Week 5 throwing multiple touchdowns in every single game. Mariota is also always a threat to run the ball and with the Broncos being worse against the run, I can see the Titans calling more designed run plays for Mariota this week.
Running Backs
Doug Martin (TB) vs. NO $7,300
Doug Martin has yet to have a big game this season, but the volume has been there for him since he has returned from an injury in Week 10. Since Week 10 Martin has had at least 16 carries in every game.He should continue to see a large workload this week and he has an outstanding matchup against the Saints who have been awful against the run this season.
Devonta Freeman (ATL) @ LA $7,500
For the second consecutive week, Devonta Freeman had a multi-touchdown game. It seems like no matter what he does, he always ends up being low owned in GPPs. I really think he will be low owned again this week against the Rams, so I will likely have high exposure to him in GPPs. Despite splitting carries with Tevin Coleman, Freeman has seen at least 15 carries in each of the past two games.
Wide Receivers
Odell Beckham Jr. (NYG) vs. DAL $8,500
Odell Beckham Jr. had a solid game last week against the Steelers with 10 receptions and 100 yards on 16 targets. He should be able to do the same thing against the Cowboys this week and hopefully find the end zone. Beckham loves to shine in primetime games, so don’t be surprised if he has a huge game on Sunday Night Football.
Taylor Gabriel (ATL) @ LA $5,400
Taylor Gabriel has been playing well as of late and he saw a season-high six targets last week in the loss against the Chiefs. Gabriel could be in line for another big performance since Julio Jones is currently battling a turf toe injury and Mohamed Sanu has a groin injury. The most ideal scenario this week would be if Jones does play at less than a 100%, Trumaine Johnson shadows him and Sanu is out.

Tyler Boyd (CIN) @ CLE $5,700
Last week it was the Brandon LaFell show for the Bengals. However, I think it is going to go back to Tyler Boyd this week since the Browns have stated that they will likely shadow LaFell with Joe Haden, who has been playing much better this season. If that’s the case Boyd will be in a great spot to destroy the Browns secondary, who have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers.
Tight Ends
Greg Olsen (CAR) vs. SD $6,400
Greg Olsen had an awful game in a tough matchup against the Seahawks last week with only three receptions and 30 yards. Olsen should be able to bounce back this week in a solid matchup against the Chargers who just allowed Cameron Brate to go off with six receptions, 84 yards and a touchdown. Also, Olsen should come in at lower ownership than Jimmy Graham and Tyler Eifert which makes him even more attractive for GPP contests.
Vance McDonald (SF) vs NYJ $4,700
Before last week, Vance McDonald has been playing pretty well. I’m going to chalk last week’s performance up to the weather being terrible in Chicago, which resulted in a historically bad performance from Colin Kaepernick. This week the 49ers return home where they do not have to worry about snow and they should be able to bounce back against the Jets, who have struggled at defending opposing tight ends this season.
Defense
Lions (DET) vs. CHI $4,700
The Lions’ defense did a great job against the Saints in Week 13 and essentially shut Drew Brees down inside of the Superdome, which is not an easy thing to do. This week they have a much better matchup at home against the deplete Bears. There really is not a chalky defense this week, so this option can double down as a solid cash game and GPP option.
49ers (SF) vs. NYJ $4,200
There really is not a cheap punt option that everyone will flock to this week. With that being said, if you want to take a chance on an almost bare minimum salaried defense, consider using the 49ers. The 49ers are far from a good defense, but they will be facing a Bryce Petty led offense. Petty looked horrendous on Monday night when he entered in the second half against the Colts, missing receivers by a very large margin.
