Free NFL DFS FanDuel Lineup For Week 4, Thursday 10/01& Sunday 10/4

Every week during the NFL season I’ll be publishing my cash game line up for FanDuel and the rationale behind all my selections. After a great start to the season in week 1, we suffered through injuries and disappointing performances in week 2 before bouncing back nicely with a 130.64 last week.

Again, this is my cash game line-up, and while I always put it in a few GPPs, there are other players at a couple of positions better suited for tournaments.

Finally, this is my Thursday night cash LU. Since I’m using Steve Smith Sr from the Thursday night game, I’ll be publishing another line up for the Sunday slate, later in the week.

QB Tyrod Taylor ($7,600) Taylor’s price has risen considerably since his bargain basement rate in week 1, but I still believe he’s an excellent value. Taylor is averaging 23.1 FanDuel points per game and gets to face a Giants defense giving up nearly 20 points a game. Through three games this season, the Giants are rated 22nd against the pass by Football Outsiders. Taylor is a duel threat quarterback who has rushed for over 40 yards in a game twice this season and has a rushing touchdown. Finally Bills might be without both LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins, prompting the quarterback to take on an even bigger role with the offense.

RB Latavius Murray ($7,500) Murray woke up last week and went for 139 yards and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are rated 27th against the run this season, but Murray gets to face a Bears team that’s even worse, they’re ranked 31st. The game script sets up well for Murray too, as a home favorite he can expected to be running the clock out at the end of the game against a Bears team that’s already traded away two of its players and seems to have given up on the season three games in.

RB Melvin Gordon ($6,800) Gordon has been getting a heavier workload as the season has progressed and finally gets a game in which the match up and game flow appear to be in his favor. The Chargers are 8 point home favorites against the same Browns team that Latavius Murray just ran through for 139 yards. This should be the rookie first round selection’s time to shine and comes at a steep discount over what he should be priced later in the season.

WR DeAndre Hopkins ($7,900) Here’s an interesting stat, the Houston Texans lead the NFL in passing attempts after three weeks of the season. For his part, Hopkins is the 4th most targeted receiver in the NFL with 39 and with Arian Foster out, is the team’s only real weapon. He gets a decent match up as he faces an Atlanta team ranked 17th against the pass and comes into the game as heavy favorites over the Texans.

WR Steve Smith Sr ($7,300) Smith’s situation is very similar to that of Hopkins. He’s the third most targeted receiver in the NFL and is his team’s only real weapon. Much like the Texans, the Ravens haven’t been able to get much going on the ground. The Ravens probably won’t be able to get much going against the Steelers 4th ranked rushing defense, but Smith should feast against the Steelers 26th ranked secondary.

WR Dante Moncrief ($6,300) Moncrief has leap-frogged aging teammate Andre Johnson as the teams #2 receiver, out snapping Johnson each of the last two weeks and received the same number of targets as #1 receiver T.Y. Hilton last week. Jacksonville is ranked 28th against the pass and 28th against opposing #2 receivers this season. The Colts haven’t gotten much going on the ground this year (of course, when have they ever) and should continue to rely on the passing game.

TE Greg Olsen ($6,300) Carolina has become a two-man show offensively with Cam Newton and Greg Olsen shouldering the load. After a disappointing first game, Olsen has received double digit targets in each of his last two games and responded with 204 yards and two touchdowns. Here he faces a Tampa Bay defense which is rated 16th against the pass but only 22nd versus the tight end position. Much like a couple of our other options today, Olsen is the only real weapon his team has.

K Matt Bryant ($4,800) Bryant is a very accurate kicker who is kicking at home in a dome in a game where is team is favored in one of the higher over/under games on the slate.

DEF Seattle Seahawks ($5,300) Yes the Seahawks defense is expensive, but we can afford them and this is a cash game line up and we want to be safe. Seattle at home is one of the safest options out there (they shut out the Bears last week) and get to face a Lions offense in disarray, lead by potential turnover machine Matthew Stafford. Don’t over think this one.
