What’s up, GF2 fans! This season I’ll be covering the NFL DFS FanDuel value plays for you guys and I couldn’t be more excited. When constructing a successful DFS lineup, you always have to make sure that the right value guys are in your lineups. The preseason is over, so now it’s time to direct our focus on Week 1 where I’m finding a massive amount of values to attack at every position.
NFL DFS FanDuel Value Plays for Week 1:
Quarterbacks
Eli Manning (NYG) @ DAL $7,200
The fact that Manning is cheaper than guys such as Marcus Mariota and Ryan Fitzpatrick absolutely boggles my mind! Dallas’ defense is by no means a top-notch squad and this divisional game always seems to be a shootout, which is what I’m looking for. With Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard lined up out wide for Manning, he should have a field day against a mediocre Cowboys’ secondary. I’m expecting a monstrous outing from Peyton’s little brother for Week 1, so don’t overlook him!
DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel Value Play of the Day
Dak Prescott (DAL) vs Giants $5,000
Yes, this could be a risky play but just think how great your lineup will look with Prescott’s minimum price tag! Like I said above, this game could be a potential shootout and Dak has all of the weapons in place to succeed. I’ve got faith in the kid that he can at least make some magic happen for us all in Week 1. The fact that I can get any quarterback playing behind this offensive line with Dez Bryant and Ezekiel Elliott at his fingertips should be interesting. Prescott should at least be able to score you guys plenty of points and you’re potentially stacked lineup should do the rest of the work for you.
Running Backs
DeAngelo Williams (PIT) @ WAS $7,100
I know that Washington’s defense has improved over the last few seasons but I still feel like Williams will be dominant, regardless. He’ll be a massive part of this Steelers’ offense with Le’Veon Bell Suspended for the first three games. Williams is a workhorse back who will see most of the touches for Pittsburgh for Week 1. Also, this Washington defense allowed 4.8 YPC, which was the second-highest of all the teams in the NFL last year. He’ll be in a ton of my FanDuel lineups for this slate.
Spencer Ware (KC) vs SD $5,400
This pick is really based on Jamaal Charles’ status closer to game time. For now, Ware is penciled in as the starter for Week 1 against a lackluster Chargers defense. Between Charles’ slow recovery from his knee injury to Charcandrick West having elbow issues, Ware should see the bulk of the carries for the Chiefs. Kansas City typically likes to run the ball a ton, so he could be a sneaky good play for this slate.
Wide Receivers
Sterling Shepard (NYG) @ DAL $5,600
If you’re going to start Manning then grabbing Shepard wouldn’t be a terrible option also. Dallas has always performed well against ODB, clearing the way for a top-notch talent such as the rookie sensation to really do some work. Shepard has had nothing but praise from the coaching staff all preseason long and should be a big-time play for Week 1. I’ve got a gut feeling that with his great route running ability and stellar hands, Sterling is going to torch my beloved Cowboys.
Marvin Jones (DET) @ IND $5,500

Jones is one of my favorite sleeper options for 2016 for both season long and DFS! He draws a juicy matchup for Week 1 most likely against Greg Toler, who doesn’t scare me. Detroit is known for their pass-happy offense and Matthew Stafford will be looking in Jones’ direction early and often. With Calvin Johnson gone and Eric Ebron hurt, Jones should be Stafford’s top red zone option for Week 1!
Tight Ends
Coby Fleener (NO) vs OAK $5,400
I feel like Drew Brees and the Saints are going to get off to a hot start against a decent Raiders defense. New Orleans is playing at home where Brees has always been stellar and he’s always made great use out of his tight end options. Just last season, Benjamin Watson had his first real nice season along with the veteran signal caller, so Fleener should fit right into the system. Fleener actually resembles Jimmy Graham with his keen route running abilities and big-bodied frame, so he’ll quickly become one Brees’ favorite passing options.
Jared Cook (GB) @ JAX $5,300
I’m not near as excited about Cook as I am Fleener but he could be a sneaky, lower-owned player. Right now, Richard Rodgers is listed as the Packers starter but Cook outplayed him all preseason. I feel that he’ll end up being the primary pass-catching tight end for Green Bay and will be a nice target in the red zone for Aaron Rodgers. This game could be a high octane affair, meaning that there will be plenty of scoring opportunities for both squads.
Defense
Rams @ 49ers $4,500
The Rams defense always seems to have a decent unit and will be facing off against one of the league’s worst overall offenses. You can save a little cash with using them and have the piece of mind that they’ll get us some positive fantasy points. Also, Los Angeles has Tavon Austin in the return game, who can take a touchdown to the house on any given Sunday!
Browns @ Eagles $4,000
This pick is based on the recent news of Sam Bradford being traded to the Vikings. Well, now the Eagles will have to more than likely rely on Chase Daniels or rookie Carson Wentz to start in his place. Neither guy is a scary option for any defense and you guys can get Cleveland at a minimum price tag. I’ll without a doubt be giving them a look for Week 1.
