NFL FanDuel and DraftKings DFS GPP Lineup Advice: Week 7
With a lot of the high powered offenses either on a bye or playing outside of the main-slate, our player pool has been thinned out quite a bit. There is also a game being played in London this week, so there are just 10 games to look at. Let’s dive into the NFL week seven main-slate to find some of the best DFS GPP options for the week ahead.
Quarterbacks
FanDuel
Tom Brady (NE) @ CHI $8,700
The New England Patriots look like the team we have been waiting to see all season long. Julian Edelman coming back makes a world of a difference. Not only because he is a great receiving option for Tom Brady, but because he opens up the field for everyone. Defenders need to respect all potential offensive plays over the middle, leaving the wideouts open much more on single coverage. Brady is facing a seemingly tough defense. However, these Bears were just torched by Brock Osweiler for 380 yards. The greatest strength this Bears defense has is the pass rush. For everyone who watches football, we all know Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks at getting the ball out quick. With so many ways to attack, the Patriots will be hard to slow down against any team.
DraftKings
Andrew Luck (IND) vs. BUF $6,200
Averaging the most past attempts per game, Andrew Luck is chucking it 48 times, per game. Leading the league in pass attempts at 288. He has 16 touchdowns on the year and is averaging 299 yards per game. This Sunday, Luck will likely get his number one target back, T.Y. Hilton. In addition, this game will be played on the fast track in Indy, where Luck’s passing yards per game jumps up to 392 yards. Although Buffalo has pulled off a couple surprise performances, the Bills are not a good team and the Colts will want to beat this team up. They have a 1-5 record but have played much better than that. Without any sort of rushing attack, look for Luck to continue throwing the ball and produce those fantasy points.
Others to consider: Cam Newton, Jared Goff, Baker Mayfield
Running Backs
FanDuel
Todd Gurley (LAR) vs. SF $10,200
He will be the highest owned running back and is hardly a GPP specific play. However, Todd Gurley is an absolute stud and there is just not a lot of great players at this position in week seven. Coming off a 208-2 game, Gurley is one of the few true feature backs left in the game. Gurley has scored at least 22.1 FanDuel points in each game this season and there is little reason to believe he will score less this week. The Rams are 2nd in run blocking, 1st in rushing yards per game, and 2nd in rushing touchdowns. Without Saquon Barkley, Melvin Gordon, Joe Mixon, or Kareem Hunt available, paying up for Gurley seems like the way to go. There is a lot of value at the wide receiver position, so fitting Gurley in should be easy.
DraftKings
Christian McCaffery (CAR) vs. PHI $7,700
Always viable on DraftKings, Christian McCaffery is one of the better pass-catching backs in the league, based on his opportunities. This season, CMC has 34 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown through the air. On the ground, there has been zero consistency. Although he has 71 attempts, the bulk came from just one game. The matchup against the Eagles is tough on the ground, which leaves me to believe the Panthers will look to pass more. On DraftKings, where we get the point per reception, CMC is one of the top running back options.
Others to consider: Ezekiel Elliot, Alvin Kamara, James White, Matt Breida, Kerryon Johnson

Wide Receivers
FanDuel
John Brown (BAL) vs. NO $6,500
Willie Sead will garner a bit of attention this weak as he is coming off his best performance of the season. That being said, John Brown has clearly been the best wide receiver for the Ravens through six weeks and is the big-play guy we love in GPP’s. John Brown is ranked third in the NFL in air yards and has shown fantastic chemistry with Joe Flacco. What is most intriguing is the matchup John Brown will see. As most know, the Saints have struggled so far this year, specifically Ken Crawley. Marshon Lattimore has played better than most think as he has had some tough matchups. This Sunday, he will likely see a lot of Crabtree, which will leave John Brown streaking for those huge plays downfield.
DraftKings
Jermaine Kearse (NYJ) vs. MIN $4,100
I am still unsure of what the final ownership percentage will be on Kearse this weekend. From what I have seen, he will be extremely low-owned. However, he is coming off a big game last week, is dirt cheap, and becomes the number two receiving option with the injury news to Quincy Enunwa. Jermaine Kearse is a very talented receiver, with great hands and speed. Now with opportunity, he should see a similar workload to last week where he caught nine balls for 94 yards. Keep a close eye on the industry chatter on Kearse. If he comes in at less than 5% ownership, he could be one of the best plays of the week.
Others to consider: Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Torrey Smith, Zay Jones

Tight Ends
FanDuel
Jordan Reed (WAS) vs. DAL $6,000
The Redskins are still dealing with a lot of injuries to the receiving core, leaving Reed the top option. Even though he didn’t have a huge yardage outing last week, Jordan Reed saw nine targets. His upside is immense and is one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL. Chris Thompson is Alex Smith’s top check-down option and he is also dealing with a nagging injury. Depending on how he feels come Sunday, will depend on how heavily utilized Reed will become. Either way, Reed should see single digit ownership percentage.
DraftKings
Eric Ebron (IND) vs. BUF $5,400
Even though T.Y. Hilton is probable to return this week, Jack Doyle is still going to be ruled out. Ebron has found a groove in Indianapolis with Andrew Luck. He is having his break-out season and showing Lion fans what he is capable of. Averaging 16.9 DraftKings points per game, Ebron already has posted a 30-326-6 line. Andrew Luck has always enjoyed utilizing his tight ends and now he has an athletic, pass-catching one. Look for Ebron to feast against the Buffalo Bills this week.
