NFL DFS FanDuel Lineup For Week 2 (9/17, 9/20, 9/21)

Every week during the NFL season I’ll be publishing my cash game line up for FanDuel and the rationale behind all my selections. If you read my article for Week 1 and used my line up in your contests, you probably made a good bit of money. Last week my LU (as I refer to them) ended up scoring 135.6 fantasy points and made me a lot of money. I can’t promise a 135 every week, but I’ll certainly try.

Again, this is my cash game line-up, and while I always put it in a few GPPs, there are other players at a couple of positions better suited for tournaments.

Finally, this is my Thursday night cash LU. I’m not using any of the players from the Thursday night game, but I might change some players out for the Sunday slate based on late breaking news or injury issues. If I do, I’ll let you know.

NFL FanDuel Line Up For Week 2 (9/17, 9/20, 9/21)

QB Carson Palmer ($7,800) With the Cardinals favored on the road, this is not the classic game flow pick for cash games, but I think it’s a safe one. Palmer is as consistent as they come, averaging 17.8 fantasy points a game last season before he was injured, more than several higher priced quarterbacks. Last week he came through with 25.68 points against a Saints defense that was ranked 27th against the pass last season. This week he faces a Bears team, without his top running back, that was ranked 29th against the pass and Arizona is only a 2 point favorite.

RB Eddie Lacy ($8,500) Lacy had 1566 total yards and 13 TDs last year. He faces a tough match up against Seattle, but the Seahawks defense is not nearly as formidable on the road as they are at home. Lacy has game flow in his favor and he’s a big part of the passing game, which lifts his floor .The Packers are favored at home, meaning Lacy should be out there in the 4th quarter helping his team grind out the clock.

RB Jonathan Stewart ($6,800) After being in a committee with DeAngelo Williams the past couple of seasons, Stewart finally has the early down work all to himself. Game flow and match up work in Stewart’s favor as well. The Jaguars ranked 20th against the run last year and the Panthers are favorites. Stewart got 22 touches last week, so it’s obvious he’s a big part of the offense and should continue to get touches.

Julio Jones ($8,800) When we’re putting together our cash line-ups, we want to be as safe as possible and #1 receivers are as safe as they come. Roddy White is slowed by age and injuries and the running game is inconsistent, Jones is the clear #1 weapon on the team and might surpass the 164 targets in 15 games from last season. He received 11 targets last Sunday in a monster performance against Philadelphia. New York was ranked 21st against the pass last season and this game is expected to be a shootout with an O/U of 50 ½, with the Giants now a 3 point favorite.

WR Jordan Matthews ($7,000) We are fortunate that Matthews played Monday night, after Fanduel released their contests or his price surely would have jumped more than $200. The Eagles #1 receiver, Matthews caught 10 passes on 13 targets against the Falcons and should be able to run free versus a Dallas defense ranked 22nd defending the pass and now missing their best corner back. The game features an over/under of 55 ½ so Matthews should see plenty of passes coming his way.

WR Terrance Williams ($6,300) With Dez Bryant going down to injury, Williams is now the de facto #1 wide receiver in Dallas and saw an increase in targets in the last two drives against New York Sunday night after Bryant had left the game. Williams is a little more hit and miss than I would normally like in cash games, but game flow on his side and the highest over/under on the slate, combined with his bargain salary more than make up for Williams somewhat streaky play.

TE Martellus Bennett ($6,100) Bennett has emerged as one of the best receiving tight ends in the NFL over the past couple of years and enjoys good chemistry with QB Jay Cutler. Cutler targeted Bennett 129 times last season and 7 times last week. The rest of the receiving corps are all dealing with nagging injuries and the Bears are small underdogs, putting game flow in Bennett’s favor. Finally, while the Cardinals have a good defense, they were not nearly as good against opposing tight ends, ranking 27th against the position.

K Zach Hocker ($4,500) When it comes to kickers I have four blocks that I try to check: high over/under, favored to win, kicking at home and kicking in a dome. Hocker checks all four blocks, he’s cheap and he kicked well on the road in Arizona. Don’t over think this one.

D Tennessee Titans ($4,600) If it seems that I’m targeting the Browns offense over these first two weeks of the season, I am. The Browns have the least talent at the offensive skill positions in the NFL and it isn’t even close. What’s more QB Josh McCown is in the concussion protocol and is doubtful to play, which brings potential turnover machine Johnny Manziel into play. The Titans played Tampa Bay tough last week and I’m expecting more of the same on Sunday.

Thank you for checking out my NFL Fanduel Lineup for Week 2, good luck this week!
