The Best DFS XFL DraftKings Picks for Week 6 (3/25/23)

I’m back! Sorry, I was unable to get an article posted last week, which is unfortunate because I crushed it. Jeff Badet and Cody Latimer carried my teams across the board, and despite the fact I played way too much Paxton Lynch, I was still able to cash all my lineups. Let’s crush this week too…

Quarterback

AJ McCarron (STL) @ VGS $10,900

No team allows more yards than do the Vegas Vipers, only the Defenders give up more passing yards, and only the Guardians give up more points. Conversely, McCarron is tied for the most passing TDs and is third in passing yards.

Quinten Dormady (ORL) vs. SEA $6,000

Last week I punted QB (Paxton Lynch), got less than 4 points from him and still crushed my GPPs and cash games because I had a lot of the ancillary players that went bonkers. I’m not saying that’s a winning strategy every week, but Dormady is so cheap, you can pay up everywhere else.

Running Back

Brian Hill (STL) @ VGS $8,900

He is second in the league in rushing yards despite missing a game, and this week he gets a Vipers team dead last in rushing yards allowed per game (142.8). Hill has been the most consistent running back so far this season, scoring double-digit points in every game he has played.

Jacques Patrick (SA) @ ARL $5,000

With Karen Ballage’s season likely over, Patrick will step into the lead role, which, quite honestly, hasn’t yielded a ton of fantasy success outside of Week 1 when Ballage had 84 rushing yards. The Brahmas are second-to-last in rushing yards per game (71.6) and tied for a league-worst two rushing TDs. With that said, at Patrick’s price and his expected heavy workload, he is worth a flyer in tournaments.

Abram Smith (DC) vs HOU $9,400

Watching Smith ball out last week was one of the most frustrating things I’ve watched this season. I’ve played Smith every week leading up to last week, and each week in my articles I’d say, “If he could only find the end zone.”

Well, he found the end zone three times last week…and I didn’t play him for the first time all year. So the fact he is back in my column probably means he goes back to racking up yards but no scores.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Deontay Burnett (HOU) @ DC $9,700

Unfortunately, Jontre Kirklin, one of my favorite players in this young XFL season, has been lost for the season. That leaves Burnett as the main option in the passing game, and he was no slouch as the second fiddle to begin with. No team gives up more passing yards than do the Defenders, and only the Guardians have given up more passing TDs.

Hakeem Butler (STL) @ VGS $10,200

Butler is second in receiving TDs (4), second in receptions (41), third in yards (336) and last week was the first week all season he hasn’t scored. As I mentioned earlier, the Vipers give up the second most passing yards in the league and he makes for a good stack option with AJ McCarron.

Cody Latimer (ORL) vs. SEA $7,000

Please do me a favor. Go to DraftKings and click on the WR/TE tab, now sort it high to low in FPPG. The Top seven players in FFPG are all $9,700 or higher, except one, Cody Latimer. The only reason Latimer isn’t 9k-plus is that he is listed as a tight end. He needs to be locked into your lineups at his price tag. Period.

Defense

Sea Dragons @ ORL $4,200

Usually, defense is a place I try to get different, but not this week. Don’t get cute, play the Sea Dragons versus the lowly Guardians. They’ll be the highest owned, but there’s a reason for it.
