Calgary Flames V Ottawa Senators
Well, it seems the Senators are doing just fine with their stars being out with COVID 19 as they laid a smackdown on the Penguins last night 6-3. That momentum will not hold going into tonight’s game against a red-hot Calgary team. They may have just got rolled by Toronto a few nights back, but the Leaf’s keeper is pretty good and has been all season in their defense. They now get a chance to go against Anton Forsberg who cannot seem to stop anything this season.
He is allowing almost 5 goals this season to the tune of a .886% save rate, just horrible. The Flames shoot around 34 times on goal a game, which is spelling trouble for Ottawa. Oh, and did I mention then score over 3 goals a game, and Forsberg cannot stop anything? Ok, just checking. I would not let the Flames 3 game losing streak scare you away, they will be just fine in this one. No matter who starts in the net they will stop the Senators right in their tracks.

Edmonton Oilers V St Louis Blues
Wow did the Oilers look unorganized the other night of what?! Even the great McDavid had a rookie kinda night whether it was passing the puck to absolutely nobody or failing to defend against an easy shot on goal. Luckily for them, they had Leon Draisaitl to score 2 and bring them within striking distance, which was not enough to bring in the win. No big deal though as it is only their second loss and this is a great rebound game for them. The Blues go to goalie Jordan Binnington has just been falling off lately and is not looking as good as he did to begin the season.
The Blues are missing key components going into this one with Krug and Schenn listening on the injury list, they will have to rely on the few shooters they have left to make a run against the best team in the NHL. If Koskinen is in fact in net for the Oilers, the Blues will struggle in this one and will be playing from behind. That being said, they can score some goals as they shoot the puck around 33 times a game, which is enough to make the Oilers defense get gassed quickly. It will be kind of unpredictable on the outcome, but either the Blues get blown out and lose, or they keep it close, and still lose. Expect Draisaitl and Co. to get it done in this one.

Pittsburgh Penguins V Washington Capitals
The Penguins will FINALLY get Crosby back for this one and that is a sigh of relief for the coaching staff as this team has been falling apart. There have been a few break-out stars, though, since he has been gone so having him back will hopefully tie everything together. It could not have come at a better time as they face a charging Capitals team who just seems hungry this year for that Cup.
But, Vanecek is projected in the net for them, and he has been sub-par, to say the least barely breaking the .900 save rate. Ovechkin is looking forward to gaining on third place for all-time goals, and when he wants something that bad, he turns into a super skater who cannot be stopped. The Capitals are going to be shooting a ton in this matchup and Tristan Jarry is gonna want to eat his Wheaties before heading to the net.
The only way the Penguins beat the Capitals, is to stop the power play, and based on their Penalty Kill percentage of 93, that can happen. Washington will be relying on their even-strength lines to make the moves and come out on top. But do not sleep on Pittsburgh as Crosby has some making up to do.

New York Rangers V New Jersey Devils
What to say about these Rangers but wow…They leave it all on the ice. They just pummeled one of the best goalies in the league and one of the best-rounded teams in the Columbus Blue Jackets. The thing about the Rangers, their scoring can come from anywhere as Trouba led the charge with 2 goals and an assist.
This team is simply amazing. They are matched up with a very inconsistent Devils team who is either hot or, well, not. One night there playing pro hockey and the next there is an AHL standard team at best. They will not keep up in this one, and I don’t say this often, but this could be a shutout. Georgive is not great, but New Jersey just is not shooting the puck a ton this season.
Their penalty kill is horrible, and unfortunately for them, the Rangers have a red hot Power Play unit and will take advantage of that weakness. Expect the Rangers to run it up in this one and move on with their season.

Montreal Canadiens V Boston Bruins
I am ALL IN on this Bruins team. They are finally coming to form and they are just plain nasty. Their top line is unstoppable lately and I am going to ride that to the moon. The Canadiens expected start is just making this came juicier for me as he is a leaker than the Titanic after it struck the iceberg.
Boston is going to dominate this game and take control early as the Canadiens hold one of the worst Penalty Kills in the league at 62%. This bodes well for Boston as they will attack that stat like a pack of wolves. This game is going to be high-scoring, with Boston leading the charge and Montreal needing to score to keep things competitive. Everything on paper points towards the Bruins winning this one, and gaining confidence while doing it. I expect Ullmark to get out of his slump and get the dub.

Vancouver Canucks V Anaheim Ducks
This game has to be excited as the Ducks try to continue their impressive 2021/2022 campaign in the right direction. This team has made so many adjustments in the offseason and it is working. They have shown to be one of the lead contenders for the Stanley Cup. I do not see them having any problem controlling this game either as the Canucks have been barely hanging on all season.
Their goaltending has been bad, and their even-strength skating lines just cannot get it together. They are down on the list in Penalty kills also, which in today’s NHL, that’s a recipe for disaster. The Ducks have only lost twice at home this season and are riding a 6 game winning streak, it will be 7 when this night is through.
What’s concerning to me is the Canucks shoot a lot of o pucks at the goal, and only tally 2 goals a game up to this point. Eventually, they will get their stuff together, but this is not the game it will happen in. Plain and simple Ducks win this one and cover the spread with ease to continue their amazing run.
