The Best SuperFlex Rookie Mock Draft

We are about 24 days after the NFL Draft and I am now just waiting for the season! I wrote a pre-NFL draft mock series covering who I would take in my Superflex rookie mocks and where. Now that we know the landing spots let’s dive in and check out how they have changed!

1.01 Trevor Lawrence, QB Jacksonville

No surprises here. Jacksonville did the right thing and took Lawrence with the first pick. In SuperFlex drafts, you should too. He will be the quarterback to bring that franchise to the next level. As long as Urban Meyer doesn’t screw everything up.

1.02 Justin Fields, QB Chicago Bears

This was not the expected landing spot I had for Fields, but I love it. He will be the best quarterback that Allen Robinson has played with…..ever. I think Fields will help unlock this offense and might save Nagy’s job at least for this year.

1.03 Zach Wilson, QB New York Jets

After the first two(and really after Lawrence) it becomes a matter of preference. I like the way that the Jets drafted and built this team to help Wilson succeed. With the addition to the offensive line and weapons, I think Wilson can succeed in this offense.

1.04 Trey Lance QB San Francisco

Lance was the biggest project to me, but out of the first three NFL Draft picks, I think he landed with the best coach. He will need to develop and somewhat quickly in my opinion with where the rest of this team is. I think his style of football will fit this offense at first, but if he doesn’t evolve as a passer it could be rough going for a little while.

1.05 Najee Harris RB Pittsburgh

I love this landing spot. People have commented that Pittsburgh needed offensive line help as well and don’t think that Najee will succeed because their offensive line is bad. Well, they added a blocking tight end and the offensive line later in the draft. I think Najee is talented enough that this won’t matter long-term.

1.06 Kyle Pitts, TE Atlanta

Pitts did not land in my personal favorite landing spot for him, but the fit is undeniable. He is my dynasty tight end number four now that he is officially in the league. His receiving ability props him up, but he is still going to be an asset blocking as well.

1.07 Jamar Chase, WR Cincinnati

I am lower on Chase now because I did not think this was a good landing spot. He is still the WR1 in this class for me but this muddies it a bit because that wide receiver room is CROWDED. Not to mention that Jamar’s best routes are his deep routes and Burrow is going to have to have time to get those to him and if their offensive line can’t give him that the LSU connection will struggle to reignite at first. Long-term Chase will be a baller.

1.08 Devonta Smith, WR Philadelphia

I love this pick. Nick Sirianni likes to use personnel in different ways and is very creative with moving people around in an offense to get them the ball. Devonta fits this perfectly in my opinion.

1.09 Travis Etienne, RB Jacksonville

I hate this pick. I am happy that Lawrence and Etienne get to stay together, but James Robinson is already in Jacksonville, so they did not need Etienne.

1.10 Javonte Williams RB Denver

The short-term viability of this pick sucks for fantasy. Long term I think Javonte wins that backfield by week 8 or 9 and is ready to rock and roll. He also has shown his receiving ability and will be Drew Lock or Teddy Bridgewater’s friend.

1.11 Jaylen Waddle, WR Miami

GUNS BLAZING IN MIAMI!! This pick for Miami was fun and I think in fantasy this is about where you should take him. He has to stay healthy, but with the new offense coming in and already having a connection with Tua I think Waddle could be a sneaky good option for fantasy this year.

1.12 Mac Jones QB New England Patriots

It’s SuperFlex, so let’s finish the round with the last starting-caliber quarterback. I think this is a logical pick for New England, but for fantasy football could be a little annoying. It is going to depend on if Cam Newton looks like old Cam or not. IF he does then you will have to wait for Mac, but if not then Mac fell into your lap here. He is a winner and has what it takes to run an offense and not make mistakes which is what Belichick wants.

Be on the lookout for rounds two and three coming soon!
