The Only Eagles Mock Draft You Need for 2022
The 2021-22 season is coming to a close and it’s about that time that we start making mock drafts. The Eagles are a team that can greatly improve in the offseason with a few key moves. The first step of this process is having a good draft. This is our 2022 seven-round Eagles mock draft. (Assuming no trades happen)

Round 1, Pick 15 – Travon Walker, EDGE Georgia
The EDGE position isn’t exactly the Eagles’ biggest need, however, this draft class is one of the best we’ve seen in a while in terms of that position. Travon Walker is a little undersized but he is a beast when it comes to strength. His 37 tackles and six sacks may seem underwhelming, but the 275-pound junior can bully his way through any offensive lineman. He is pretty quick so the Eagles would be able to use him all over the field, having him on the field alongside their already stacked defensive line. Not to mention his ability to stop the run at the line of scrimmage. This pick would be the start of a great first round for Philadelphia.
Round 1, Pick 16 – Devin Lloyd, LB Utah
The other position that the Eagles are lacking talent in is LB. With TJ Edwards and Alex Singleton being the main guys, the Eagles have very little talent in the LB position. Devin Lloyd has had quite the season with Utah recording 111 tackles, 8 sacks, and 4 interceptions. Lloyd has been phenomenal this season and could even go in the top 10. Out of four seasons with Utah, this was a career year for the junior. This pick would help out the Eagles’ dire need to fill the LB position, and they would be very lucky to draft him.
Round 1, Pick 19 – Ahmad Gardner, CB Cincinnati
There are a few positions in which the Eagles lack either depth or talent, one of those positions being CB. Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner is one of the top draft prospects for his position. The junior has had a very solid season with Cincinnati as he only allowed seven yards on 2.3 yards per reception.
In his three-season career, Gardner recorded 99 tackles, nine interceptions, 3.5 sacks, and allowing just two TD’s. A very impressive collegiate career to say the least. The Eagles need a true CB2 and more depth in the position overall. Gardner is not only a good fit but a fantastic player as well. He would most certainly be of immediate help to the team if they were to draft him.
Round 2, Pick 51 – John Metchie III, WR Alabama
It’s no secret that the Eagles lack talent at the WR position. Their leading receiver this season was their first-round pick, DeVonta Smith. The next up on the list after Smith is Quez Watkins. Yes, some of you might be thinking “who?”, and that’s just my point. Every NFL fan should also know of
Jalen Reagor by now after his god-awful season. Here’s a fun stat for you: Henry Ruggs, who was arrested in week 8, finished the season with more yards than Reagor. John Metchie was unfortunately hurt vs Georgia at the end of the season. Even so, he had himself quite the season before his injury. He recorded 96 receptions, for 1,142 yards, and eight touchdowns.
If the Eagles were to pick up a top F/A WR, Metchie would fit into the WR3 position very well. The once extremely depleted WR position would become very talented for the Eagles.
Round 3, Pick 83 – James Cook, RB Georgia
The 2021-22 Eagles had the best rushing offense in the league by far. This is largely due to having a top-five offensive line, even while missing Brandon Brooks. They also had arguably the most depth in the RB position with Sanders leading the way.
The Eagles, however, are very unlikely to bring Sanders back once his contract expires. He has proven to be too injury-prone and wouldn’t be worth it. This pick could be considered high but it could be worth it in the long run. Cook has shown a lot of promise at Georgia and with RB Isiah Spiller likely off the board by now, Cook could be their guy.
While at Georgia Cook recorded over 2,000 total yards and 20 touchdowns without fumbling the ball once. Cook also made a couple of huge runs in the playoffs, in particular the championship game against Alabama. He got the offense going when they looked like they had no life in them. This pick would add more depth to the RB position without wasting the cap space.

Round 4, Pick 120 – Markquese Bell, S Florida A&M
The Eagles’ secondary needs help and drafting a safety is a must. The Eagles do have Rodney McCloud who’s been great for them, but they have little-to-no depth. Markquese Bell has proven to be a turnover machine on defense for Florida A&M. In his 2019 season with the Rattlers Bell snagged six interceptions, allowing just 39 yards and 0 touchdowns.
This past season Bell had four forced fumbles to go along with an interception, 0 yards allowed, and 0 touchdowns allowed. Bell is the young talent at safety that the Eagles need in case of injury and for future success.
Round 5, Pick 152 – D’Marco Jackson, LB
Adding more depth to their LB core is exactly what this Eagles team needs. Even with drafting Devin Lloyd in the first round, they need more young talent at the position. Drafting Jackson in a later round would be a steal for the Eagles as he has shown some real talent.
This season Jackson went for 119 total tackles, six sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, six yards allowed, and five pass deflections. He has proven to get better every season as his final season was by far a career year. Jackson along with Lloyd would look much better than just Singleton and Edwards.
Round 5, Pick 160 – Matt Hankins, CB Iowa
Matt Hankins has continued to be a very consistent player allowing very few yards and breaking up passes. Hankins allowed the only yards in his five-season collegiate career this season with 41. Those yards all came on a 41-yard completion which makes the stat somewhat impressive.
In his previous four seasons, he hadn’t let up a single yard or touchdown. In his career, he’s racked up 212 total tackles, six interceptions, and 21 pass deflections. Hankins would be another solid young player to add to the position group. At this point, the Eagles need all the depth they can get.
Round 5, Pick 164 – Cade Mays, IOL Tennesee
The Eagles currently have a top-five, possibly top-three, offensive line. That being said, they have been hit hard by injuries in the past, including recently retired Brandon Brooks. The Eagles are also a team that likes to develop young offensive linemen out of the draft. To name a few we have Jason Kelce, Jason Peters, and even last year’s Landon Dickerson.
Cade Mays isn’t necessarily the talk of the draft when it comes to linemen but the Eagles don’t need an immediate Pro Bowler. Losing Brandon Brooks hurts, but it leaves room for new guys, like Cade Mays, to come in and be a part of a top offensive line.
Round 6, Pick 193 – Yusuf Corker, S Kentucky
As we enter rounds six and seven, you aren’t looking for anything close to star talent. Most of the time you draft a guy you like and hope could turn out to be the steal of the draft. Example: Tom Brady, the greatest football player of all time. Yusuf Corker is fine, not anything particularly special but he has an impact on the field nonetheless. This season he recorded 82 total tackles, one sack, and eight pass deflections. This is one of those picks that could turn into something, but could also just end up on the practice squad.
Round 7, Pick 205 – Charleston Rambo, WR Miami
If you’re an Eagles fan, this pick should excite you if they were to take him. It isn’t all that likely that he falls to 205, but it’s possible according to draft simulators. Rambo wasn’t very productive in his first three seasons, but this year was a huge breakout year for him. This year with Miami, Rambo had 79 receptions, for 1,172 yards, and seven touchdowns.
These stats seem very impressive for a 7th round pick and trust me, they are. Even so, as I said before, he wasn’t as productive in his first few seasons. His previous career-high in receiving yards is 725, and he’s also dealt with injury problems. For these reasons, he isn’t viewed as one of the top receivers in the draft. And maybe, just maybe, he falls into the Eagles’ hands in the seventh round.
