Week one of the NFL season is in the books, and week two is under way. For us at The Red Zone, it’s all about Carson Wentz and what he’s brought to the Philadelphia Eagles. We started out the show discussing our recent Twitter poll:
Did the Cleveland Browns and LA Rams make a mistake by not drafting Carson Wentz?
The overwhelming majority of our listeners, 91 percent, said yes. Both Kellie and Rashan agree that Carson Wentz brings a new spirit to Philly football. Wentz showed amazing poise and a professional play style in his debut regular season performance. We expressed our happiness and passion for the first game and are looking forward to what Doug Pederson, Carson Wentz, and the rest of the team have in store for us. Thank you Rams for taking your third string guy, Jared Goff, and thank you Cleveland for picking up the already broken RG3 and allowing us to have our franchise guy. Be sure to listen in to hear all of our insight into this first game. Two words come to mind: fire and passion.
Next we went over our opinions on Thursday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick pulled out a victory thanks to the amazing help he got from his offense with Matt Forte, Eric Decker, and Brandon Marshall. Darrelle Revis didn’t quite live up to his reputation, but we both agree he’s not done.
The Bills under Rex Ryan despite putting up 31 points on offense have fired their offensive coordinator, Greg Roman. We agree that Roman was used as a scapegoat and the failings on the Bills fall squarely on the D. How many more Ls will the organization tolerate before Rex Ryan follows him out the door?
We went on to discuss our predictions for week two with a little recap from the first week thrown in. Be sure to listen and see which of us is the better predictor! One of our favorite callers joined in, Bryce from Brooklyn to discuss his Pittsburgh Steelers, we always appreciate his insight.
We ended with our hilarious game, Nailed It or Failed It! We welcomed in the talented Michael Kelley, writer here at goingfor2.com to join us. We read Michael quotes and tweets from around the sports world and he then gave his opinion if they nailed it or failed it and why. We get the chance to respond and laughs and jokes ensue. This is always my favorite part of the show. This week we had some great laughs with a good dash of sexy mixed in, don’t miss it.
The entire show was full of laughs and sexy fun with sports. Hit play at the top of the page and join us on The Red Zone, then get over to Twitter and send us a follow @TheRedZoneLive to never miss an exciting moment!
