The top stacks to consider in DFS- NFL Week 2

Welcome to the weekly stack article for NFL on DraftKings. The concept behind stacking is simple; the players benefit from each other, compounding the amount of points derived from that play for your fantasy lineup. Most GPP winning lineups will incorporate a stacking methodology in their lineup. Most people think of a traditional QB-WR stack (which is certainly viable) but I will provide a few other ways to effectively stack and increase the ceiling of your team.

Please note, a ton can (and will) change between article posting and kickoff, follow me on Twitter for all my thoughts on additional value coming and going before lineups lock.

The Classic Stack: QB to pass catcher

Ben Roethlisberger ($6,300) to Diontae Johnson ($4,500) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos.

This is a GPP only stack. It’s not necessarily my favorite but I do think it will go under the radar a bit. I am ignoring the low total from the DEN v. TEN game, Denver is going to struggle a bit on defense this year. Now they have to travel East and face a team that got it clicking in the other MNF game? These salary savers allow you to spend up in other valuable areas.

The Double Stacker: QB to RB and WR

Philip Rivers ($5,900) to Jonathan Taylor ($5,700) and Parris Campbell ($4,500) Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings.

Another salary saver stack, I expect the playmakers from this stack to be pretty chalky this week. However, Rivers is going overlooked by the masses. They head home after a shocking defeat and play a Minnesota Vikings team that is going to be bad on defense but should have enough offense to keep it competitive. The Colts’ season will be on the brink if they don’t take this game so I expect big things from this group.

The Game Stack: QB to Pass Catcher, bring it back with opposing pass catcher

Dak Prescott ($6,800) to Amari Cooper ($6,300) bring it back with Calvin Ridley ($6,800) Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks:

To be honest, I should have titled this “Dak/Ryan to Cooper/Gallup/Lamb/Jones/Ridley/Gage/Hurst and bring it back with another one.” Gives you an idea of my thoughts on this game. I probably won’t have a GPP lineup without at least 2 players from this game. It will be chalky but this gives me a nice baseline and I can find value in other games.

The Correlation Stack: Starting RB and Defense/Special Teams

Derrick Henry ($7,900) and Titans D/ST ($3,500) Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars.

I was SHOCKED when the Jags won in opening week. That puts them at their win total I had for them all year. I don’t think they can do it again so I will load up on the Titans defense and we know that spells good things for their workhorse back, Derrick Henry. When he can get the ball with the lead, he is hard to slow down.
