The Ultimate Buy Low/Sell High Guide – Week 8
Almost halfway there. I hope you’re not living on a prayer. That’s alright if you are because we’ve got a lot of fantasy football left to play.
SELL HIGH
Marquise Brown, WR, Baltimore Ravens
Embed from Getty ImagesBrown has been a revelation this season and I love his talent, but Rashod Bateman is on his way up. Bateman has 12 targets over his first two healthy games this season. Brown has out-targeted him during that time, but expect that to even out as Baltimore’s 2021 first-round selection gets more and more acclimated to the NFL. Capitalize on Brown’s incredible start to the season and trade him before his opportunities decrease.
James Conner, RB, Arizona Cardinals
All this dude does is score TDs! He’s now number two on the season with eight rushing TDs. The problem is his 43 percent snap percentage and his five targets on the season. He’s attached to a great offense, so the valuable red zone carries will likely be there; however, he disappears if Arizona is playing from behind due to his lack of pass-catching opportunities. 20th in rushing yards (before Thursday Night Football) and second in TDs is a recipe for massive regression in the second half of the season.
Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins
Boy has he been enjoying an empty receiving room. DeVante Parker and Will Fuller have been in-and-out of the lineup with injuries and Gesicki has taken advantage. In the last three weeks without either of the aforementioned WRs he has seen 24 targets, 19 receptions, 243 yards, and a TD. Parker and Fuller will be back sooner rather than later not to mention he plays Buffalo and Baltimore in two of the next three weeks. He will not maintain his TE3 production for much longer. Get out while the getting is good.
BUY LOW
Julio Jones, WR, Tennessee Titans
Embed from Getty ImagesHe looks like himself when he’s actually on the field. Injuries have been his kryptonite this season, but another week removed from a hamstring strain means another week of practice and building chemistry with Ryan Tannehill. Tennessee has a potent offense with the play action game fast becoming a weapon of mass destruction as teams stack the box futilely trying to stop Derrick Henry. He is 12th in targets per route run which means Tannehill is looking his way when he’s in the game. He could provide rock-solid WR2 production the rest of the way if he can stay on the field.
Brandin Cooks, WR, Houston Texans

The 22nd ranked fantasy WR on the season, Cooks is about to get a major upgrade at QB. Tyrod Taylor practiced Wednesday and is projected to be the starter for Week 8 against the Rams. Cooks had 22 targets, 14 receptions, 210 yards, and a TD through two weeks with Taylor as the starter. He has a terrible matchup with Jalen Ramsey this week, but after that he gets the Dolphins, Titans, Jets, Colts, Seahawks, and Jaguars. Trade for him now and secure yourself a bonafide top 24 WR for the stretch run into the fantasy playoffs.
Allen Robinson, WR, Chicago Bears
This is with the caveat of him being traded before the November 2nd deadline. The rumor mill is swirling about a potential trade of Robinson who is currently playing on the franchise tag and likely won’t be back in 2022. Nearly any situation would be better for his fantasy potential, so pull the trigger if you can acquire him cheaply.
