The Value Vault, Free NBA FanDuel DFS Advice for 11/03

If you’ve read any of my NFL articles, you know I treasure value in daily fantasy sports. “Value” is represented in those players that are likely to produce well over their salaries and send your line-up rocketing to the top of a tournament contest. Value can come in several forms. It can be the back-up subbing for an injured or resting starter or it can be a player who’s been in a slump or who’s been facing tough competition suddenly faced with an easy match-up. Whatever form value comes in, I’ll try to identify it for you, so you can incorporate it into your line-ups.

I won’t be writing this column daily (I have a bar to run and an NFL article to post), nor will I be offering complete line-ups as I do for NFL. I’ll simply be pointing out those players you should probably double-check when you’re filling out your FanDuel NBA line-ups.

SG Victor Oladipo ($8,100) Oladipo isn’t cheap, but he’s been on fire so far this season. He’s averaging 41.6 FanDuel points per game, 5X his salary! Oladipo isn’t your typical shooting guard either, he can fill up a score card with assists, steals and rebounds (how many shooting guards average nine rebounds per game); unlike typical SGs who rely on scoring. After a strong 14/15 campaign, he faces a Pelicans defense that’s allowing 41.27 FanDuel points to the position (27th in the NBA!)

PF Julius Randle ($5,100) Randle is a player best left for tournament play. His production has been rather sporadic in the early season, but he’s still averaging a healthy 28.7 FanDuel points a game. Of course this figures in a high of 54 and a low of 1.9. Rookies…..or in Randle’s case, basically rookies. Denver has had issues defending at all, but particularly the power forward position, allowing 49.89 points per game.

PF Marvin Williams ($4,800) Unlike Randle, Marvin Williams has been a model of consistency this season. Averaging 28 fantasy points per game, his low is 25.5, while his high is 31.9. Williams is a consistent cash game player who, when getting solid minutes, will contribute. Keep an eye on the injury report here, because when Cody Zeller returns from his illness, he’ll cut into William’s minutes. Chicago has been reasonably stingy against the 4, but if Zeller is out again, Williams is a good bet to hit value.

C Koustas Koufas ($3,800) Koufas has produced solid numbers of 24.9, 23 and 14.4 while splitting time at power forward with rookie Wille Cauley-Stein and backing up DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins. Well, Boogie is out for this bench and Koufas should see his minutes expand from the mid 20’s to well into the 30’s. Priced barely above minimum, Koufas is a good bet to top value, even in a tough match-up against Memphis.
