Top Stacks For FanDuel MLB DFS
There are a few games that have weather to take advantage of. The St. Louis Cardinals game got cancelled yesterday due to bad weather but hopefully they will play today. I’m going to leave them out just in case things linger a little longer than expected. Games I like for weather are ATL @ SFG, OAK @ CLE, PHI @ CHC. Now I want to separate these based on pitcher matchups and salary.
Cash Stack – Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies will be facing Cole Hamels. I’m not a huge BvP guy but there are plenty of at-bats to go around for this matchup. The three guys that I trust the most have also had the most success against Hamels. They also are set to be 1-2-3 in the order. I think they are more of a cash play because they might be higher owned but they all offer a safe floor.
Andrew McCutchen (OF) $3,400
Andrew McCutchen has been killing lefties this year. He hasn’t done much in the way of power but is hitting .314 against them compared to his .226 against righties. He limits this stack to a cash play due to the unlikelihood of him hitting a home run but he has a very safe floor for today. He also helps tie together other pieces of the stack for a fairly cheap price. I think this stack allows you to get a good pitcher and have a solid core of hitters. I would also consider adding in J.T. Realmuto if you really feel like going all in on the Phillies.
Jean Segura (SS) $3,700
Jean Segura is quietly having a very nice year. He’s hitting .316 on the season and has 30 runs already. I’d like to see him with more speed this year but it’ll happen eventually. His numbers against Hamels aren’t anything out of this world but he’s hitting .346 against lefties this season. Should he get on base I think he’ll score a lot as well. He does always carry the potential for stolen base upside any time he’s on base. I like his return on investment more than any other shortstop on the slate.
Bryce Harper (OF) $4,300
In 43 plate appearance against Cole Hamels, Bryce Harper has drawn eight walks. He has also scored five runs and swiped two bags. Harper bats much better against lefties as he owns a .292 average compared to a .205 average against righties. Harper is the main reason I have the Phillies as a cash stack. He might be high owned and will likely put up points but I don’t think he puts up enough points to surprise anyone.
GPP Stack – Chicago Cubs
Cole Irvin is starting for the Philadelphia Phillies. He doesn’t have that bad of numbers but he also has low strikeout and ground ball rates. With a strong wind blowing out of Wrigley field I expect that to cause some issues for him as well. There are a lot of Cubs players that have a fair price. I put them as a GPP stack because it will be harder to nail down the right players for the stack.

Javier Baez (SS) $4,000
If Javier Baez is good to go for Wednesday then he has to be in your lineups. He was able to pinch hit Tuesday night so he should be fine to play. Baez has had a good season in general but has been especially deadly against lefties. He has a .464 average against lefties in his 28 at-bats this year. Five of his 13 hits against lefties have been home runs. There will be a 14 MPH wind out to left field where he already loves to pull the ball. You still get the safe floor with him as he’s hitting .319 on the year.
Jason Heyward (OF) $2,800
Jason Heyward has a low price which is part of why I like him in a stack. He also should be hitting behind Baez which gives him a chance at higher points. He’s hitting .243 against both lefties and righties so there isn’t much concern about a production drop off. I wouldn’t expect a home run out of him today but he makes for a solid score to build around at a fairly low price.
Kris Bryant (3B) $4,300
Kris Bryant has been much better this year as his .396 wOBA would suggest. Bryant is averaging 14.12 FPPG this season and should go over that mark today. I would personally like Bryant but if you need to save money for a pitcher I would target someone discounted at third base over going cheaper than the other two guys in this stack. Willson Contreras or Daniel Descalso could be good options if you are running a tight budget.
