Ultimate Fantasy Rookie Performances to Follow: Week 13
This week, I was super excited to talk about Treylon Burks’s first touchdown. In the history of the NFL, an offensive player has never had a fumble recovery as their first TD. This week, Burks swooped in and capitalized on a Derrick Henry fumble in the endzone. Obviously something super fun and weird and perfect for my article. Then Jelani Woods came in and, well…
This is the top 5 rookie performances of the week based on full PPR scoring. Enjoy.
5. Jelani Woods (17.8)
Woods’ pre-draft stats of 6’7, 259 pounds and a 4.61 forty yard dash were all tantalizing. That didn’t necessarily lead to production this season (7 catches in 9 games) for the 73rd overall pick. Then, this week happened. 8 catches for 98 yards made up for a little less than half of Matt Ryan’s total pass yards on the day. Is this a break out or just a flash of potential? (I don’t know. Can somebody please tell me?)
4. Rachaad White (20.4)
Since seemingly taking control of the Buccaneers backfield, White has taken off. This week, White managed 64 rushing yards and 45 receiving yards. The 9 receptions were what really made fantasy owners happy since they were the bulk of the points on the day. Do not expect that every week. This is by far his best day but it’s hard to see this continuing once Leonard Fournette comes back.
3. Brian Robinson (20.5)
Brian Robinson has a big hat. That’s all anyone really has to know. (He also had a legitimately good game with 105 rush yards and 2 catches for 20 yards and a touchdown but wowee! Look at that hat!)
2. Christian Watson (21)
I’m convinced Christian Watson only scores touchdowns. He caught his 6th touchdown in 3 weeks! Against a good Philadelphia defense, Watson caught 4 of 6 for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. The touchdown (and the majority of the yards) came on a 63 yard pass from Jordan Love. Apparently it doesn’t matter who plays for the Packers because Watson’s hot streak continues no matter who’s throwing the ball.
1. Garrett Wilson (26.4)
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS. Wilson is what you want out of a top 10 draft pick. He is unguardable. As long as somebody who can accurately throw the ball remains under center, Wilson should finish the season strong. For those keeping track of the stats, he caught 5 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Wilson also carried the ball one time and lost a yard, but you can’t be mad at the guy for being bad at doing something that isn’t in his job description.

Thanks for reading! See you next week! Sorry for being obsessed with big hats! If somebody wanted to gift me an oversized Carolina Panthers hat I would proudly put a picture of me with the hat in my next column. I’m looking at you @NogginBoss
