Ultimate Fantasy Rookie Performances to Follow: Week 17

Truthfully, with this being a holiday weekend, I didn’t catch much football at all. I saw the Jets on Thursday (Zach Wilson is terrible and holding the team back) and the Colts game on Monday (if football had divisions like they do in European soccer, they would be relegated and never return). That is a long winded way to say the following is purely based on stats!

Last week’s scores ranked in reverse sequential order from 5 will proceed this sentence (PPR POINTS).

 5. Brock Purdy (15.96)

Purdy went 15/22 for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns, which is a pretty decent statline. He did have an interception, but Washington has a good pass rush that typically speeds up quarterbacks (rookies especially) in a way that causes one to make mistakes. I wish he had started earlier in the season so we could have had a true rookie competition with Kenny Pickett, but we weren’t that lucky.

4. Tyler Allgeier (16.2)

18 carries helped Allgeier get 74 yards this week. The remainder of the points came from 4 catches for 43 yards. These stats are pretty surprising against a good Baltimore defense. Patterson has also faded as the season went on, giving Allgeier more and more opportunities to become the lead back in Atlanta.

3. George Pickens (16.7)

Pickens caught all 5 of his targets for 57 yards and a touchdown. It’s always better for Pickens to have Pickett under center rather than Mitch Trubisky.

2. James Cook (18.5)

The Chicago Bears defense is BAD. They let Buffalo get 254 rush yards and 3 touchdowns. Cook was the second best rusher on the team for the day (Singletary was number 1). Cook rushed 11 times for 99 yards and a touchdown and added one catch for 9 yards.

1. Jahan Dotson (19.6)

I was very confused to see that Wentz played for half of this game. Earlier in the season, he was throwing to Dotson early and often. After looking at the game log, I’m even more confused. The majority of Dotson’s catches came from Heineke in the first half. What is going on in Washington? As far as Dotson’s statline goes, he had 6 catches for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Pickens, Walker, Watson, Ridder, Dicker, Bellinger in that order.
Wilson vs Olave (KW3 can have two big weeks)

Thanks again for reading! Good luck in your finals! Happy Honda Days for all who celebrate!
