Ultimate Rookie Report Conference Championship Round

The Eagles and the Chiefs will play in the Superbowl once again. In the past eight years, these teams have combined for eight appearances in the big game. So much for league parity!

Washington Commanders 23 Philadelphia Eagles 55

So long Jayden Daniels. All of my rooting couldn’t push you past the juggernaut that is the Eagles. Daniels threw 48 passes, completing 29 of them for 255 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed six times for 48 yards and a touchdown. There was an interception in there too, but it was still an excellent performance in a high pressure conference title game. It’s incredibly hard to overcome four turnovers, but he stayed calm and collected right up until the end.

Will Shipley got some play for the Eagles when the game was way out of hand. Shipley ran the ball four times for 77 yards (including a beautiful 57 yarder) and a touchdown. Shipley has slipped under my radar this postseason and if he reads this (he doesn’t), I sincerely apologize for missing any amazing performances (I didn’t).

Buffalo Bills 29 Kansas City Chiefs 32

The Bills rookies were largely nonexistent in this one. Keon Coleman caught one pass for 12 yards and Ray Davis got two carries for four yards.

Xavier Worthy led the Chiefs in catches and receiving yards. He caught 6 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. It took Andy Reid some time to figure out how to use him, but the future is bright for Worthy.

There is a week off from any meaningful football. Next week is the Pro Bowl and skills challenge, while the Chiefs and Eagles prepare for a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. I will happily be watching Brian Thomas Jr, Brock Bowers, Drake Maye and Malik Nabers. Jayden Daniels unfortunately pulled out.
