Ultimate Rookie Report Conference Championships

This week we had two exciting, close games. How did the rookies do?

New England Patriots 10 vs Denver Broncos 7

This was a defensive battle that turned unplayable due to the weather. Offensive outputs on both sides were miniscule. TreVeyon Henderson was conspicuously missing, only getting three rushing attempts, totaling five yards of offense. Most of those yards, four, came from a single carry. His running mate, Rhamondre Stevenson, had 25 carries. Andres Borregales was the hero of the game, kicking a 23 yard field goal in messy conditions and an extra point. In a 10-7 game, it doesn’t take a whole lot to be the hero.  Denver had to roll with backup quarterback Jason Stidham, so making anything happen was  a nearly impossible task. RJ Harvey had 13 carries for 37 yards and caught 4/6 passes for 22 yards. I am still excited for Harvey’s future, but he probably needs a power back to split the backfield with to be successful. Pat Bryant caught his lone target for one yard. He also had a carry for another yard.

Los Angeles Rams 27 vs Seattle Seahawks 31

The Rams rookies did not help the cause in this high scoring title game. Konata Mumpfield had two targets and Terrance Ferguson had one. Collectively, they had zero catches. For Seattle, Robbie Ouzts did not play in this game. He was probably exhausted from last week’s massive performance. He’s just gearing up for the biggest rookie fullback performance of Super Bowl LX.

Enjoy the Pro Bowl festivities this week. Our friend Chimere Dike made the team as a kick returner! Good for him.

Have a nice week. Rest up for what is shaping up to be an awesome Super Bowl.
