Ultimate Rookie Report Divisional Round 2025

I hope Robbie Ouzts reads this

This week was more of a learning experience for all of the rookies. They totaled 396 yards across the 12 offensive skill players. That doesn’t include the offensive lineman who was targeted as well. We’re talking an average of 33 yards per person here guys. Let’s get to it.

Buffalo Bills 30 vs Denver Broncos 33

Buffalo continued to not roll out any offensive rookies. Based on the Broncos’ rookie production for the week, it’s shocking they didn’t win this game. Denver’s Pat Bryant caught all three of his targets for 30 yards before going down with a concussion in the first half. RJ Harvey and the running game as a whole was shut down by the Buffalo defense. Harvey only ran 20 yards on six attempts. However, he did manage to catch five of six targets for 46 yards in this overtime thriller.

San Francisco 49ers 6 vs Seattle Seahawks 41

The San Francisco 49ers were also rookieless on the offensive side of the ball. Seattle has a much more compelling story of Robbie Ouzts. Wait. You don’t know THE Robbie Ouzts? Born September 6th, 2002, Robbie Ouzts grew up being a two sport athlete at Rock Hill High School. A three star recruit, he got a scholarship at the University of Alabama in 2021, where he got the chance to play fullback for the Crimson Tide. In his college career, he totaled 16 receptions for 192 yards and three spectacular touchdowns. Drafted in the fifth round, he has been an integral part of the Seattle Seahawks team playing 203 offensive snaps. On Saturday, Ouzts had an outstanding game. He didn’t catch his one target.

Los Angeles Rams 20 vs Chicago Bears 17

The Rams prized tight end this year, Terrance Ferguson, caught one of his five targets for 19 yards. Rookie wideout Konata Mumpfield caught two of his three targets for 11 yards. On the other side of the ball, we’re losing a lot of good, young talent to these playoffs. Kyle Monangai did not have his typical dominating game, only getting 36 yards on the ground and another 36 yards through the air. Colston Loveland caught four of his ten targets for 56 yards. Luther Burden hauled in three of his seven targets for 24 yards. Guard Theo Benedet was given a target he did not catch. Not a great day for rookies on a team that was heavily dependent on rookies.

Houston Texans 16 vs New England Patriots 28

The Houston Texans were another team heavily dependent on rookies that didn’t come through in the high pressure situation that is the divisional round of the playoffs. Woody Marks has been stellar this season and ran for 119 yards last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week, he only managed 17 yards on 14 carries. That’s 1.2 yards per carry. He added 19 yards on his two receptions but also lost a fumble in a game full of turnovers. Jayden Higgins led the team with 59 yards on six receptions. Jaylin Noel did not catch the one target that went his way. There’s not a whole lot you can take away from a game that was an absolute dumpster fire for the Texans. Despite the win, the New England rookies did not fare much better. TreVeyon Henderson had 12 carries for a total of 25 yards (a still gross 2.08 yards per carry). He also managed a reception for -2 yards. Third round pick Kyle Williams missed all three of his targets. At least Andres Borregales made all four of his extra point attempts.

We are running out players to watch in the playoffs. We’ll see how many survive to see the Super Bowl LX. Also, if you have any connection to Robbie Ouzts, tell him to slide into my DMs.

Have a good week!
