Ultimate Rookie Report Super Bowl Edition
What an exciting Super Bowl for Philadelphia and anyone who was tired of the GOAT talk about the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. There were two giant rookie performances that I want to talk about in the championship of our beloved National Football League.

In all my years writing for Goingfor2, I have never talked about a defensive rookie, but this feels important. Cooper DeJean dominated all season long. According to PFF, DeJean was the second-highest rated rookie defender of the season coming in behind Jared Verse. He was the seventh best rookie overall for the year. In the Super Bowl, DeJean had one happy birthday. With the Eagles up 10 to 0 in the second quarter, Cooper DeJean made a house call. He is the first player in the history of the league to score a touchdown on his birthday in the Super Bowl. There isn’t anything better than winning a world championship and setting a record on your birthday.

Xavier Worthy, much like the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs, decided to play football in the second half. After having a single catch for a yard in the first quarter, Worthy exploded after halftime. Worthy caught all eight of his targets for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, these came when the game was completely out of reach. Honestly, he would have been MVP if the Eagles had not completely stomped the Chiefs into oblivion.

Shipley enjoyed watching and winning a Super Bowl ring from the sidelines.
Now that the season has come to a close, we get to enjoy the rampant speculation of what our favorite teams will do in free agency and the NFL Draft. For now, we are all undefeated and hope is limitless.
Next week, I’ll have my final analysis for the season.
Love,
