Ultimate Rookie Report Week 12
I owe Drake Maye and the New England Patriots fanbase as a whole an apology. Somehow, Maye slipped through the cracks of my data analysis. Actually, I know exactly what happened. He was second on the depth chart on a New England team that hasn’t been particularly interesting and I never paid attention to them again. Ironically, he was my favorite quarterback coming out of the draft. Therefore, sorry Drake Maye, for leaving you off the list the three other weeks you would have made it. You have quietly put together a nice little season for yourself once you became a full time starter. You are officially on my radar and will be moving forward.
Points per reception leagues are pretty much the norm nowadays. These guys were the best of the rookies this week.

Xavier Worthy shows up on this list shockingly infrequently considering he set a draft record in the 40 and got paired with the best quarterback in the NFL. I really thought this was a homerun for a fantasy point bonanza. Week one started with a two touchdown banger, validating my predictions. Since then, he has had a relatively up and down season, plopping Worthy as the 44th best wideout in fantasy. This week, Worthy had one seven yard rush and caught four passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.

There needs to be a study done on the Los Angeles Chargers. I swear I watched this game. I enjoyed it. I won money on it. I literally forgot everything that happened. McConkey was there and caught six of his nine targets for 123 yards.

Maye completed 75% of his passes (30/40) this week for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also had three rushes for 27 yards. Unfortunately, he was also turnover prone, with an interception and a fumble.

Bo Nix is making a strong case for the best quarterback play out of this year’s draft. With a staggering 28/33 (84.8%) passing for 307 yards and a touchdown, Bo and the ‘Cos (see what I did there?) destroyed the Atlanta Falcons. Bo is now the seventh best quarterback on the year and only 6 points away from overtaking Jayden Daniels for 6th. Ladies and gentleman, we have a legitimate quarterback competition!

Brock Bowers was targeted an insane 16 times against the Dolphins and caught 13 of those passes. This led to a paltry 126 yards and a touchdown. Bowers leads the league for targets at the tight end position and is eighth overall. I heard that this was the single game best rookie performance for a tight end in history but I am having trouble confirming that. No matter what, this game was absolutely incredible.
Scott Fishbowl Playoffs apparently start this week for those who celebrate. This was not the year to be a tight end bully. I will sit sadly on the sidelines and hope for a better team next year.
Good luck on the playoff push, friends!
