Ultimate Rookie Report Week 7

Weekend of Friday the 13th

Between injuries and byes, this is the lowest scoring week of my (2 year) career. De’Von Achane literally beat the top 3 of this week combined all by himself in week 3. To be fair, that was an insane performance, but this week was… bleak. It’s not going to get much better now that Anthony Richardson is done for the year. For further context, our number one this week would have placed 5th last year behind our old friend Bailey Zappe in the same week of the season. To give you an idea how bad it is right now, I track 36 players. 15 of them put up 0s this week.

Let’s celebrate the best of the mediocre this week, shall we?

Rankings are based on the meager amount of points the youngest people in the league got this week in a PPR.

5. Bryce Young (12.68)

Bryce threw the ball 38 times for a whopping 217 and a touchdown. At least there were no turnovers this week. Panthers are on bye next week and retool their offense under a new play caller Thomas Brown.

4. Bijan Robinson (13)

This is the classic Atlanta Falcons. Draft an amazing skill player in the top 10, then use them sparingly. Currently, Bijan is EQUALLY SPLITTING carries with Tyler Allgeier. Bijan does get the majority of the passing work out of the backfield, but still. Come on, Arthur Smith. 13 carries for 37 yards and 5 receptions for 43 yards was all Bijan pulled off this week.

3. Josh Downs (13.1)

Josh Downs made the list this week with 5 catches for 21 yards. There was a touchdown too but WOOF. What a week.

2. CJ Stroud (14.6)

CJ Stroud threw his first interception of the season against the Saints. He also completed 13/27 for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was in a win!

1. Zay Flowers (17.1)

MY BOY ZAY IS FINALLY NUMBER ONE. I realize there’s little competition at all here, but I’m going to take the win anyway. Six catches for 50 yards and a touchdown is all it took to get to the top of the list this week. The positive to take away from this is that Flowers led the team in targets, so points are bound to start rolling in. Maybe.

Sorry for the brevity of the article this week. There’s just not a whole lot to talk about when the best of the week barely did anything. Better weeks are ahead I’m sure. Maybe.

CJ Stroud and Bryce Young are off next week.

Have a better week than the rookies did, friends!
