Ultimate Rookie Report Week 8 2024
First of all, I need to apologize. I misunderstood a thing I read while writing last week’s article. Chicago’s next game is against Washington. The problem with that is, I didn’t realize Chicago had a bye in between. The even worse news is the Rookie Quarterback Bowl is in jeopardy after Jaden Daniels injured his ribs against the Carolina Panthers this week! The fantasy gods give us Malik Nabers and Marvin Harrison back and then taketh away our favorite young quarterback. Such is football this year.
If you are a rookie and you got a lot of stats, they translated to fantasy points and you may be on this list!

It’s a down week if a quarterback makes it without getting a touchdown. Bo threw for 164 yards passing and rushed for 75 yards. Without all of the running, we would have seen a Panther make this list. That’s how low of scores we’re talking about this week.

The addition of Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills opened up some more room for Keon Coleman. Four catches led to 125 yards receiving. There is also a rumor that Coleman helped Amari Cooper run his route for Cooper’s touchdown but Coleman himself said “Nah man, he knew the plays. I just confirmed it”. What a political way to say yes two weeks away from the election.

Bucky is the opposite of Bo this week. Not a lot of yards (23 rushing and 54 receiving) but he made the list because a touchdown is six points in our silly game. Three catches in a PPR league gave him a nice little boost too. It’s important to monitor his usage moving forward because my fear is coming true. Rachaad White has rejoined the lineup and taken the lead and Sean Tucker is still floating around eating touches too. It may be a while before we see Bucky again.

I was a big fan of Brock Bowers when he was in college and then I saw a picture of him standing next to Rob Gronkowski. He looked so tiny. It messed with my perception of Bowers as a player and I wish it hadn’t. Brock Bowers is currently TE1 in the league (which really hurts me and all my shares of last year’s tight end darling Sam LaPorta). It helps that the receiving options around him are trash. This week Brock had a massive 14 targets and he hauled in 10 of them for 93 yards.

Okay. We managed to keep one LSU Tiger on the list this week. Brian Thomas Jr. has quickly become WR1 on the Jacksonville Jaguars and WR8 in the league. He caught all five of his targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. He also reeled in a two point conversion for another 2 points. Unfortunately for my wife, it was not an octopus (got the touchdown and the two point conversion the next play).
My fingers are crossed that Marvin Harrison and Malik Nabers just needed a week to reacclimate to playing football. We are missing our usual big numbers this week. I’m sure we’ll be right back to big scores next week. Hopefully maybe.
Stay healthy out there,
