Ultimate Rookie Report Week 8 2025

Another one gone too soon. In the second quarter of the Giants game against the Eagles, Cam Skattebo went up for a pass across the middle. He did not get back up. Skattebo suffered a dislocated right ankle and will be done for the season. Skattebo was the best rookie running back so far, and tenth best RB overall. RIP to a real one. Hopefully he fully heals and is ready for the 2026 season.

For the record, Egbuka never missed time, but he has been a shell of himself and painful to have in a lineup since his hamstring injury.

Every fantasy manager in a PPR league would be happy with these rookie performances.

5. Tetairoa McMillan (16.9)

In an absolutely laughable performance by the Panthers as a whole, Tetairoa McMillan managed to catch 7 of Andy Dalton’s errant throws for 99 yards. If I think about this game for  too long, I’ll be sad, but at least we drafted someone good, I guess. Next week, the Panthers face the Packers, which I assume will go as well as this week did.

4. Harold Fannin Jr (18.4)

NATIONAL TIGHT END DAY! Harold Fannin was the best pass catcher on the Browns this week. He caught six of his game-high eight targets for 62 yards and a touchdown. For a guy that most people haven’t heard of on a team that already had a good fantasy tight end (David Njoku) Fannin is the seventh best tight end so far this year and slowly creeping up on Tyler Warren. Browns have their bye next week.

3. Oronde Gadsden II (18.7)

NATIONAL TIGHT END DAY PART TWO! Technically, this was Thursday night and not NTED, but that’s semantics. Gadsden started the football week off by making five catches on five targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. If you take away the two games Gadsden didn’t play to start the season, Gadsden is the 7th best tight end and has had two monster weeks in a row. The Chargers play the Titans, who appear to be surprisingly good against the tight end position.

2. Jaxson Dart (19.4)

It isn’t getting any easier for Dart. This week he lost his rookie running mate Cam Skattebo, who was arguably the engine for the whole Giants offense. Dart managed to complete 14/24 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown. As the mobile quarterback that he is, Dart also got 17 yards rushing and a touchdown buoying his fantasy score for the week. As long as Dart sustains his rushing touchdowns, he will be a viable play this season, but he will look so much better with all of his offensive weapons around him next year. Next week, the 49ers come to town. The 49ers have been surprisingly porous for quarterbacks this season, so Dart should have a decent game.

1. RJ Harvey (24.1)

RJ Harvey was a touchdown machine this week. JK Dobbins got the bulk of the Denver carries, but Harvey was the player to punch it in twice on the ground and once through the air. Paradoxically, Harvey only had a total of 51 total yards with one catch. This is obviously unsustainable, but it was exciting to see that Harvey had it in him. Next week, the Broncos face the Houston Texans, so don’t expect anything out of this second string running back.

Stay healthy out there.
