Waiver Wire Week 8 (#FantasyFootball)

Fantasy Football Top Waiver Adds Week 8

Injuries are piling up and now it’s time to just survive until your team gets healthy. This late in the season it’s about digging deep and finding some gems to get you into the playoffs. Here are this week’s waiver grabs.

Raheem Mostert RB (49ers)

(ESPN ownership 0.2%)

2018 Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire

49ers players keep getting injured and with Matt Breida going down again Raheem Mostert is the next man up. Mostert played great in week seven having 78 yards on only 11 touches. This type of production and efficiency should be enough to earn Mostert more playing time and if Breida stays out Mostert could be a solid fill in.

Chris Ivory RB (Bills)

(ESPN ownership 5.7%)

The Bills offense is terrible but goes thru the running back position. With LeSean McCoy battling a concussion Chris Ivory is the next man up.  With built-in volume at the position, Ivory was able to put up 105 yards of offense in week 7. As long as McCoy is out he will get enough volume to be a playable fantasy asset.

Tyrell Williams WR (Chargers)

(ESPN ownership 8.4%)

Tyrell Williams has now gone for 118 yards two weeks in a row which is starting to near being a trend. With the beat up defense, the Chargers are being forced to pass more and take chances which fits perfectly with Tyrell Williams’s game. He is definitely a volatile option but in a division filled with bad defenses and a pass-happy offense he can be a flex option with heavy bye weeks.

Danny Amendola WR (Dolphins)

(ESPN ownership 24.4%)

The Dolphins receiving corps is in absolute shambles with Albert Wilson to the IR and Kenny stills expected to miss some time. Amendola is basically all that’s left with the most experience on the team. Working the slot should get Amendola volume in PPR formats making him a flex option from here on out.

Kenjon Barner RB (Patriots)

(ESPN ownership 0.1%)

This one is a complete dart throw in deep leagues but could pay off. Sony Michel is week to week with a knee injury and the Patriots like to keep a committee in the backfield. Barner looks to be next up to be the early-down back with James White. The Patriots offense is good enough to give him scoring opportunities making him a solid desperation play.

Tre’Quan Smith WR (Saints)

(ESPN ownership 8.7%)

2018 Week 7 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire

After his overshadowed breakout game (Thanks Drew Brees for breaking records) Smith was a little quieter against the Ravens. The part that did stand out was that in a highly contested offensive performance Smith still managed 6 targets (2nd on the team) against the top secondary in the league. After the next two week, the schedule for the Saints gets incredibly easy just in time for fantasy playoffs which means Smith could be a money pick.

Ronald Jones RB (Buccaneers)

(ESPN ownership 15.0%)

This one may seem a bit absurd with Jones being inactive most of the season and his efficiency being pure trash so far this year. The truth is he has only 17 carries on the season which isn’t nearly enough for a young player to get in their groove. Jones has seen his usage go up the last two weeks as well as getting into the end zone. The idea of Jones taking over the starting role in the next few weeks isn’t out of the picture and with as beat up as the running back position is, it’s essential to stash potential value.

Chris Herdon TE (Jets)

(ESPN ownership 0.6%)

A fantasy draft darling before the season everyone fell in love with Chris Herdon’s skill set. Then the off the field hit. After being derailed by some off the field issues and a slow start Herdon is finally starting to shine in the Jets’ offense scoring in the last two games. Week 7 when Darnold struggled it led to Herdon being second on the team in targets with seven. Between an athletic skill set and an increase in rapport with Darnold, Herdon could improve by leaps and bounds.
