What to Expect from Goingfor2 when the NBA season is over
Well, the NBA season is winding down, and soon it’ll be playoff time. Of course there will be some DFS contests during the playoffs, but 4 game slates are the most we will get on any given night.
As you may know, I don’t know much about MLB, and wouldn’t do you any justice trying to give advice. So what can you expect from this blog after the NBA season is done? Well, I have a few things I’m cooking up, and I just wanted to put a post out there outlining a few things I’m working on.
First off, I’m still looking for a guest blogger to do MLB. I thought I had a few guys willing to do it, but none have really panned out like I had hoped. I’m still working on it though, so hopefully soon I can get some MLB content up.
Secondly, come fall, I’ll be doing a weekly post for season-long NFL fantasy, in addition to DFS NFL and DFS NBA. With that said, over the summer I plan to do “Sleepers Lists”, “Mock-Drafts”, and I’ll run my top 20 for each skill position. Once the draft is complete and the dust settles a little on all the off-season moves, I’ll do a team by team fantasy outlook.
I’m also considering a “Goingfor2 Fantasy League”. It wouldn’t be a traditional league since there would be no way to get all my readers involved. I’m thinking of doing a Player Eliminator Challenge. I did one last year for the first time, and it’s pretty fun. The entry will be free, but I’ll probably run some kind of blog promotion to gain entry, something to the effect of a retweet of my blog’s url and a hashtag. I’ll also need to come up with some type of prize. I’d love to tell you that I’ve made millions playing DFS, and I’ll have a large cash prize for the top spot, but unless I win big in the next 6 months, that’s not going to happen. I’ll have to think of something creatively inexpensive.
A player eliminator challenge will allow for an unlimited amount of entries, so hopefully I can get a lot of participation. Without getting into too many details, basically the way it works, it’s similar to DFS in the respect that each week you pick an entirely new team. The trick is, you can only pick a player one time for the year. So if you decided to use Tom Brady in week 1, you won’t be able to use him again the rest of the year.
I’d love some feedback on this idea. Is this league idea something you would be interested in? Comment below and let me know what you think.
In the meantime, I’m going to continue to look for someone to provide some MLB content. It’s been a great season, and I’ve really enjoyed doing this blog. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing. I’m really looking forward to writing for the NFL season. The NFL is my bread and butter.
