Where is Waller?

Overvalued

Darren Waller-TE Raiders

This angers me to say this as I drafted him very early expecting TE 2/3 numbers all season, but where is Darren Waller?  That first game vs Baltimore where he had 10 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown had me giddy.  Then it all came crashing down.  Since Week 1, he has been no better than TE9.

Waller is a machine with the ball in his hands, physical, fast, and consistent, but that’s where the problem lies.  The Raiders have to find ways to get him the ball.  Opposing defenses know especially since Ruggs’ departure, that Waller is the main target and have been playing him accordingly.  Week 4 was his only other above 10 fantasy points game.  Heartbreaking.

The Raiders face the Bengals, Cowboys, Washington, and Chiefs in the next four weeks.  These are very penetrable defenses.  So, We Waller owners hope and pray for a bounce-back before we spend Thanksgiving and Christmas crying into our food over what might have been.  Look for him to get more active Week 11 against Cincinnati defense who got trampled by Cleveland Week 9 and allowed TE Njoku to score a TD!

Undervalued

Mac Jones-QB Patriots

Ok so this article is late, but it did give me the chance to watch another decent Mac performance.  Remember when some thought it was all Brady in New England like Belichick wasn’t one of the greatest.  Who was he to cut Cam Newton for a rookie?

Well, he knew what he was doing.  Drafted 15th in the first round, getting passed over by the 49ers and Bears, Mac had a lot to prove.  Last night in the 25-0 victory over the Falcons, he became the 1st rookie in history to complete 80% of his passes in back-to-back games.  Wow!  I for one thought he had great potential out of the gate.  He is no mobile QB, but his pocket presence and awareness are something QB works years to achieve.

Mac is not posting massive fantasy numbers, but he is consistent and the Patriots have won 5 straight games.  They head into Week 12 7-4 and 2nd in the AFE East to the Bills.  Week 12 they face the Titans and then the Bills, two tough matchups before their Week 14 bye.  If you played him last night, Mac had 207 yards and one touchdown.  Only 11.4 points…ouch.  So, know going forward he has rougher matchups, but if you can grab him in dynasty for something, I say pounce.  This is only the beginning for Mac.
