SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 24: Michael Pittman #11 of the Indianapolis Colts celebrates his fourth-quarter touchdown in front of Talanoa Hufanga #29 of the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on October 24, 2021, in Santa Clara, California. (Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images)

I wrote about the Colts last week and how they could be a smokey outsider to win their division, and a gutsy win on the road last week in brutal conditions in San Francisco proved there was some steel in their horseshoes after all.

Still, it was tough on the eye to watch, but I can appreciate the combative nature that we witnessed.

In better conditions this week – i.e. a dome and at home – the Colts will be looking to take on rival and divisional leader Tennessee who have whipped the life out of Buffalo and Kansas in back-to-back weeks.

Saying that out loud is crazy enough but putting it in writing… I don’t know, I guess I (and many) didn’t see that coming.

But to me, for the Colts to keep their momentum moving forward, they’ll need to focus on Michael Pittman more than ever.

Pittman is walking around with a 23% team target share and sits at 15th overall for receiving yards, which bodes well considering the Titans give up more receptions and yards to the receiver position – something that Carson Wentz and Pittman will look to take advantage of.

This game currently has the O/U line set at 51 points which I can see smashing over, the Titans are averaging 30 points a game since week five, and the Colts are punching steadily at 24 points per game as well.

Where does a ghost go on vacation? To Mali-boo…

Dun..dada-da-da-dada… Dun dada-da-da-dada Ghostbusters!

Sam Darnold returned to the Cemetary to mourn his time as a Jet this last week as he took on the Giants at Metlife Stadium and gave his best homage to his career for the ‘gang green by stinking the joint up and getting benched before the game was over.

Just like old times indeed!

But I did feel bad for him, his tackles weren’t about, he’s still missing Christian McCaffrey and Terrace Marshall had the concussion issues also.

But that was in the past. Let it be. Keeping that in mind can’t always be great for our pockets, or in this case, our DFS lineups, because…

IT MUST MEAN THAT I’M LOOKING AT SAM DARNOLD THIS WEEK AS A GPP PLAY, AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS ABOUT IT – I’M GOING DOWN WITH THE SHIP, DAMMIT!!!

I mean, c’mon there’s only so many times (well… it happens 17 times a year I guess) a year that you can start a quarterback, lowly priced, against the anemic Falcons secondary.

It’s true, Atlanta is still giving up 23 DKPT’s a week away to opposition quarterbacks, with four of their six games allowing the opposition to pot them for 28 points.

It’s the same defense that has coughed up a combined 10 passing touchdowns to a murderer’s row of quarterbacks that includes Jaylen Hurts, Taylor Heinicke, and Tua Tagovailoa. Yes. Those established, prolific guys. Sarcasm – I promise – I’m kidding, all three are half terrible in their own right…

I understand last week was a shitstorm in a teacup and they’ve fallen badly since their incredible start to the season, but at $5600 (as one of the many, many cheap quarterbacks you can start this week – it’s a great week to pay down) and in a game that should be fast-paced and high-scoring – I like the play of Darnold as a low rostered guy, and run him back with Kyle Pitts, and D.J. Moore.

I feel like the consensus will fade him hard (and justifiably so) this week, but I like the price and the matchup for him to hopefully do some damage.

My roommate says our house is haunted… I’ve been living here for 300 years and I haven’t noticed a thing…

Listen…

I’m not here to pile it on the Bears, Matt Nagy, and whatever it is they do on Sundays – they do a good enough job themselves of telling the world how bad they are.

So for this quick, small segment of my article, I am telling you to go out and see if you can grab Allen Robinson on the cheap in your dynasty leagues (not redraft leagues, in dynasty only) – I’m not telling you to sell the farm for him – I’m just saying it might be time to ask the person who has Robinson in your league the question – because I promise you they will listen after what’s transpired over the first seven weeks of the year.

You should buy a ticket or two in the Allen Robinson lottery, hoping that he gets traded before the deadline in a few days and if he doesn’t get traded, that he sets himself up in a better environment as a free agent in 2022 and beyond.

You’re playing the long game here, and I’d suggest that if you’re currently contending that this may not be the right move for you to make.

However, if you’re team is struggling and bereft of receiver talent – then this may be a move for a veteran that you should consider.

For Halloween we dressed up as almonds… everybody could tell we were nuts..

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS – OCTOBER 24: Hunter Henry #85 of the New England Patriots catches the ball for a touchdown during the second quarter in the game against the New York Jets at Gillette Stadium on October 24, 2021, in Foxborough, Massachusetts. (Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images)

While everyone has been going goo-goo gaga over Dawson Knox, Hunter Henry has pretty much mirrored the same season – which to be blunt – is an average tight end scoring season that’s been boosted by a stack of touchdowns.

Both are in that ‘back-end’ tight end top 12 for receptions, and targets, and yards – but both sit at the apex for touchdowns, and for that specific position, sometimes, it’s all you need to be successful.

Hunter Henry, this week, gets his revenge game on the road to a former employer in the L.A. Chargers. He had a pretty good season last year with rookie quarterback Justin Herbert and is doing about the same now with another rookie quarterback in Mac Jones.

And that form has allowed for a touchdown in four games straight, and while we want to rely on targets and yards – sometimes – we gotta take what we can.

It’s easy to say that his former employer is giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to the tight end position (20.3 DK ppg) which should be enough to catch your eye.

Or we can also say that amongst tight ends with five or more red-zone targets that only Travis Kelce has a higher completion percentage, and only Rob Gronkowski has equaled him for conversions-to-touchdowns.

In other words, he’s up there with some of the best in the league in this facet of the game.

And for me, at $4200, he is priced perfectly if you want to come down from the top-priced guys, in a game that can blow up.

Why didn’t the skeleton go to the scary movie? He didn’t have the guts…

Look, I’m not going to be the guy that sits there and harps about what you should and shouldn’t do during the bye weeks with all these running backs you have added from the waiver wire that may have panned out into – at one point – an asset.

Or maybe I will…

I find that with the dynasty leagues I’m in I tend to be the guy that sells too early, as opposed to too late. Case and point – D’Ernest Johnson – last week who went bonkers in a game that was almost built for him to go off.

The Browns had a backup (capable, but still) quarterback in, with most of their receivers injured – oh yeah, and all their starting running backs in Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb out injured.

He went off…

And now Nick Chubb looks like he will be back this week.

So what are you going to do with Johnson now? Hold onto him and wait for Chubb to (hopefully not) get hurt again?

No, that window to sell him is gone.

My point here is to learn your lesson. Khalil Herbert has been great, but soon enough, David Montgomery will be back.

Darrel Williams has flashed, but soon enough… yep, you guessed it… Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be back too.

I am very much aware that Kenny Gainwell is also in a smash spot with the Eagles this week, and will figure prominently until (or if at all) Miles Sanders comes back.

But even if he doesn’t come back, did you see enough from the Eagles to trust how they use the starting back? With Jalen Hurts getting fidgety in the pocket and running for his life?

Are you sure you want to hold onto this week’s new hotness hoping he doesn’t flame out?

I like Kenny Gainwell, I do, and I hope he crushes it in fantasy for the rest of the year…

…on someone else’s team, after I traded him away for picks and an upside player while at his potential peak for the year.

How do you get rid of demons? Exorcise a lot…

Wait, wait, wait, wait wait!

Do we get Tampa at New Orleans this week with an implied O/U of 50 points?

And you’re telling me that Jameis Winston (in a dome, and not torrential rain) gets to face Tampa (OPRK 23rd) – who have allowed on average 270 passing yards a week and 2 passing touchdowns a game?

And you’re also telling me that he is only $6000 on Draft Kings this week?

This means that I gotta run that back with Chris Godwin ($6400) and Marquez Callaway ($5400) as well right?

I could bring up Tom Brady and Alvin Kamara, no worries, that’s easy to do – they feel very much the chalk plays.

And we already know that Mike Evans is getting locked up by Marshon Lattimore like he has most of his career.

But how do we make this lineup even better?

How about we add the returning Rob Gronkowski ($4600) in this magical lineup, who despite missing the last month is still the TE1 on a PPG basis with 19.5 ppg?

Ok, I’ll play all these guys because you insist. But if I win, you’re gonna hear about it from me!

Where does Dracula keep his money? In a blood bank…

Well… It only took them 8 months to start moving on from players they probably shouldn’t have signed in the first place, right?

Houston is now cleaning the house out as we can see, with Mark Ingram off to his former employer in New Orleans, and the rumors have started circulating Brandin Cooks departing too…

Oh yeah, and that Deshaun Watson fellow as well, his name has popped up again!

Either way with veterans moving on now is your chance to scour the waiver wire or make some trades for a couple of guys on their roster who could be plenty attainable.

Nico Collins was an absolute favorite of mine this offseason and I can see him getting more love. Over the past 2 weeks has had 11 targets which is nice to see, considering he shook an injury or two off over the start of the season.

And as much as I believe in Phillip Lindsay, along with the Texan’s refusal to stop using David Johnson, a guy like Scottie Phillips is a name to keep an eye on in deep, deep leagues as a running back stash for the run into the end of the season.

The Texans have a nice fantasy playoff schedule (Seattle, Jacksonville, L.A. Chargers, and San Francisco) to close the year out. If both starts getting more of a look now, for a low cost they could both make an impact for you when it matters most.

Again, names to keep an eye on.
