NFL Player Comparision | A bigger Devonta Freeman

2020 Dynasty Rookie Draft Projection |Top 5 Pick

Bottom Line

Dobbins has been somewhat of the forgotten man in what was a “Big 5” going into the combine with Jonathan Taylor, D’Andre Swift, Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb being the other four. However, Dobbins didn’t do anything at the combine and elected to do his workouts during his Pro Days, which were subsequently cancel due to the COVID-19 quarantine. But turn on the film and watch this kid perform and that’s all you will need to convince you that he belongs in that Top 5 conversation.

Playing at Ohio State meant he played against some of the best players and teams in college football, and he still produced at an elite level. He is second all-time in yards at Ohio State, more than both Ezekiel Elliott and Eddie George. He blends patience, explosiveness and long speed into one package and should be a bell cow at the next level.

My player comp of Devonta Freeman fits for a few reasons, 1) he is a decent-to-above average pass catcher, 2) he is elusive and has great explosion when bursting through a hole, and finally, 3) he seeks contact and wants to deliver the first blow — something Freeman shouldn’t have done as a smaller guy, but Dobbins is built to deliver those type of hits.

He won’t make it past the 1.05 in one-QB leagues, and if you’re sitting at 1.05 and he falls to you, you’re going to be happy he didn’t participate in the combine, or he may have gone before the 1.05.
