DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/23/19
Before we get to today’s picks I have a question. Why do you play DFS? For me personally, it provides a daily opportunity to test my critical thinking skills and predictive abilities. Human beings are notoriously highly inaccurate when it comes to prediction, but it’s sure fun to try. Tweet me at @dobrow_jason with the reasons why you play, and I will hit you back. Top Plays
Kyrie Irving (9400 DK) versus Cleveland
I’m not one for the revenge narrative, but I have to admit it crossed my mind with this pick. The Cavs are awful, and while the blowout potential is high, Kyrie is playing too well (59 Fantasy Points per game over his last three) to fade. He is also 4000 cheaper than Harden (who I would never talk you out of playing) so the price is good as well.
John Collins (7900 DK) @ Chicago
The Bulls are not very good, and the immortal Ro Lo playing Center is not a scary defensive proposition. As Chicago and Atlanta are two of the worst teams in the league, this game should be somewhat close, and Collins should get adequate minutes and usage. Expect a big game.
Value Plays
Jahlil Okafor (4600 DK) versus Detroit
Did you ever wonder what happened to Jahlil Okafor? If you did he has been riding New Orleans’s bench most of the year. With Anthony Davis out for about a month with injury, Okafor is now getting tick in the Big Easy and responded in a big way in his first start in what seems like years (40 Fantasy Points against Memphis). While he will not equal that every night, looking at a matchup with Detroit, especially with Andre Drummond still potentially out bodes well for Okafor.
Bam Adebayo (4600 DK) versus L.A. Clippers
You caught me, I made Bam a value pick again partially because I love the little explosion emoji that comes with his name. Bam! Anyway,while he is still stuck in a timeshare with Hassan Whiteside, at 4600 against a fast paced Clippers team, Bam figures to reach value and provides the extra bonus of an excellent emoji.

Kemba Walker (8100 DK) @ Memphis
Did you know that Kemba only shoots 42% from the field on the road? Well now you do. Couple that with a pace down game against a tough Memphis defense and this is not the ideal spot for Kemba. I won’t fully talk you of it, but D’Angelo Russell and Donovan Mitchell at similar price points are better plays in my eyes.
Victor Oladipo (7700 DK) versus Toronto
Dipo is as cheap as we have seen in a while and is coming off of a solid game against the Hornets. Toronto however is a whole different animal (realistically a Raptor would smash a Hornet in about three seconds) and with a rested Kawhi Leonard presumably back in the fold this is NOT the time to chase a big game from Oladipo.
