DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/24/19
Another Thursday, another small slate. Before we go there, I’m in midst of a terrible slump. I was killing it about a month ago, and doing well until about the last week. While this might bother some, to me that’s another great thing about DFS. The variability, and lack of predictability is what makes it fun. No matter how good or bad you are at the game, things outside of your control, weird coaches, surprise injuries, ejections, etc., can derail your lineup. Now on to the picks….
Top Plays
Karl-Anthony Towns (10,200 DK)@ L.A. Lakers
I am getting redundant being on KAT night after night after night but look what he’s doing. He slaughtered the Suns to the tune of 65.5 Fantasy points in just 31 minutes the other night, and with LeBron and Lonzo still out for the Lakers, this figures to be another great spot for KAT. I do not see this game as a blowout (could be wrong) so the minutes should be there.
Paul George (9,600 DK) vs. New Orleans
While this slate is a small one there are no shortage of stars with great matchups. I love Paul George against NOLA especially without the Brow down low. George has put up 52.6 Fantasy Points per game this season and with no ‘Brow clogging the paint this matchup is a great one for him. I won’t talk you out of Russ or Steph, as they are both in good spots, but George is a great pick for this slate.
Value Plays
Klay Thompson (6400 DK) @ Washington
While the Warriors figure to have no trouble dispatching of the horrendous Wizards, Klay is too cheap for this matchup. With his shooting touch seemingly back and DeMarcus Cousins patrolling the paint down low for the Warriors, Thompson should be able to exceed value even if his minutes are not super high.
DeMarcus Cousins (5800 DK) @ Washington
Quick, who plays Center for the Wizards?? If you said Dwight Howard, that would be wrong, he’s on the team but out at the present time. If you said Thomas Bryant, that would be correct. Which brings me to the question can Thomas Bryant defend DeMarcus Cousins? Answer, no. Which brings me to the next question, how much longer will you be able to get DeMarcus Cousins for under 6K on DraftKings? Answer not much longer. Make your choices, but I personally will be taking advantage of Boogie’s super value.
Neva Plays

Derrick Rose (6,500 DK) @ Lakers
I do not have a lot of good Neva Plays for this slate due to its small size, so I am picking on D.Rose. Part of the reason for my aforementioned slump, at least on Tuesday Night was a hugely disappointing night for D. Rose. I do not think he is a terrible play, but had to choose someone, so D. Rose it is.
Tomas Satoransky (5400 DK) vs. Golden State
Tomas Satoransky has been a steading influence for the Wiz since John Wall shut it down for the year. Satoransky is not a bad play but I think defensively he will be taxed by chasing Steph and/or Klay Thompson around and could end up in foul trouble. Paradoxically, I like a dirt cheap Dennis Schroder even in a backup role against the Pelicans more.
