DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/27/19
If there is one thing that I am better at predicting than any other DFS Writer out there it’s making someone a top play who winds up not playing at all. On Friday Night’s slate I picked a to be suspended Nikola Jokic as a top play, and for Saturday Night’s slate I picked Damian Lillard, who as of now is projected to rest against the Atlanta Hawks. We all have to be good at something, right? Now on to the picks..

Hassan Whiteside (6900 DK) @ New York
I feel like Coach Spoelstra woke up this week, and said maybe I should start actually giving Hassan Whiteside some minutes. Whiteside is averaging nearly 43 fantasy points per game over his last two and draws a favorable matchup against a New York team that is starting, Luke Kornet? Enes Kanter? Mitchell Robinson? Patrick Ewing? at center.
Nikola Vucevic (9900 DK) @ Houston
If Orlando stands a chance at slowing down the Beard and defeating the red hot Houston Rockets, Nikola Vucevic is going to have to do big things against the Clint Capela less Rockets. While 9900 DK is high for Vucevic, the matchup against the aging Nene is a good one for him and he should be able to produce in this game.

JaVale McGee (4500 DK) versus Phoenix
I’ve been waiting for a long time to mention JaVale McGee in my column. Shaq has been waiting for me to mention JaVale McGee in my column as well! Well today is our day. With Phoenix looking far and wide for anyone to play center, Quincy Acy, anyone? JaVale is in a great spot to put up a solid game for the Lakers against the Suns.
Jerryd Bayless (4400 DK) versus Utah
During my college days at Arizona State, I did some volunteer work for the Grand Canyon State Games. One day, I was keeping score for a game featuring 2 of the top 12 year old teams in the state and one kid was destroying the other team. That kid was Jerryd Bayless, true story. While his NBA career has been up and down, I’ve never forgotten that game. This pick is predicated on continuing injuries to D.Rose and Jeff Teague, but if they can’t go Bayless is a great pick against Ricky Rubio’s suspect defense.

Rajon Rondo (6200 DK) versus Phoenix
In his first game back from injury against the T’Wolves, Rondo went off for 50 fantasy points. While this spot against Phoenix is a good one for him, with the specter of LeBron’s return hanging over his head, I think he will be hard pressed to do it again. That being said, Phoenix’s point guard situation is awful, and playing him here is not the worst move in the world, should you so choose.Â
Bradley Beal (9000 DK) @ San Antonio
Bradley Beal is a solid player who is capable of going off in spots. I don’t think San Antonio is that spot for him and more importantly paying 9000 DK for Bradley Beal in any game is just a tad much. I might feel differently in the 8000-8200 range, but this pick is not for me.
