DFS XFL DraftKings Lineup Advice Week 3 (3/22/20-3/23/2020)

DFS XFL DraftKings Lineup Advice Week

I have a lot to live up after being the No. 1 overall “tout” in Week 2 and tied for No. 1 overall on the season, according to DailyOverLay.com’s rankings.

Let’s hope Week 3 is just as good.

Don’t forget we go live on the Armchair Fantasy Show podcast for XFL DFS every Friday at 9:30pm EST on YouTube. We also do a Dynasty Show on Tuesday’s. You can subscribe and watch us here. And, we are syndicated on all major podcast networks. Now let’s get to why you’re here…

Quarterbacks

XFL DFS DraftKings Lineup Week 3

Explosive PlayMy top play for the position
Deep ThreatA deep threat is a second or third tier player that will outperform their price on FanDuel/DraftKings.
Hail MaryAlso know as a punt, a Hail Mary is a cheap, low-owned player with a ton of upside. Great for GPP's.
Missed TackleA missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be fading in my contests.

Explosive Play | Cardale Jones (DC) $10,800 @ LA

Phillip Walker likely has more raw point potential than Jones, but the $700 savings make Jones my top-tier guy this weekend. LA played better defensively in Week 2 than in Week 1 when they gave up four passing TDs to Phillip Walker, but they weren’t that much better.

Deep Threat | Jordan Ta’amu (STL) $10,100 vs. NY

Ta’amu deserved to be the second-highest priced QB behind Walker. but for some reason, DraftKings priced him behind three other QBs. With his running ability, he is an easy plug-and-play in cash games.

Hail Mary | None

Missed Tackle | Josh Johnson (LA) $9,200 vs. DC

Johnson is still dealing with a lingering injury and now he faces the No. 1 defense in the league in the defenders. At his price, I’d rather pay down for Ta’amu or pay up for the two QBs above him.

Others I like:

  1. Phillip Walker $11,500

Running Backs

Explosive Play | Lance Dunbar (DAL) $6,600 @ SEA

Dunbar is third in points per game among running backs and has 23 total touches in two games, he just hasn’t scored a TD yet. That will come this weekend.

Deep Threat | Darius Victor (NY) $4,700 @ STL

Before getting hurt last weekend, Victor was the better of the two Guardians’ running backs. He is the better receiver out of the backfield and looks more explosive than Tim Cook. After a full practice on Thursday, Victor is back on my radar.

Hail Mary | Larry Rose (LA) $3,500 vs. DC

Rose will be highly owned if Elijah Hood is indeed ruled out. Rose didn’t look great in relief last week, but his price tag allows you to pay up at other positions, which is something you’re going to need to do to win in XFL DFS.

Missed Tackle | Christine Michael (STL) $5,600 vs. NY

He got the workload, but not the production. With 17 touches last week, he could only muster 8 fantasy points. No thanks.

Others I like:

  1. DeVeon Smith $6,300

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

XFL DFS DraftKings Lineup Week 3

Explosive Play | Rashad Ross (DC) $9,400 @ LA

Per PFF, Ross has the second-best WR/CB matchup this weekend. His primary defender will be CB Arrion Springs who has struggled in coverage this season. The wide receiver with the best matchup is De’Mornay Pierson-El, and he will be in my lineups as well.

Deep ThreatKahlil Lewis (HOU) $9,100 @ TB

It looks like Cam Phillips will indeed play in this game, but even with Phillips on the field, the $2,000 discount from Phillips to Lewis makes me like Lewis slightly more. He may not have more raw points in the end, but the $2,000 saved will be huge.

Hail Mary | Nick Holley (HOU) $4,400 @ TB

DraftKings finally move Nick Holley to wide receiver after two weeks, however, they also lowered his price $400, making him a must-have value in a great offense playing a poor defensive team.

Missed Tackle | Austin Proehl (SEA) $8,400 vs. DAL

After a big Week 1, Proehl fell back to Earth and his matchup isn’t much better this week than is was last week. I expect him to struggle again.

Others I like:

  1. Nelson Spruce $10,900
  2. De’Mornay Pierson-El $10,100

Defense

Explosive Play | DC Defenders $4,700 @ LA

If I need to explain this pick then you haven’t been watching XFL.

Deep Threat |  Dallas Renegades $4,200 @ SEA

The Dragons offense isn’t very good and the Dallas defense has played decent even if their fantasy stats say otherwise.

Hail Mary | Seattle Dragons $3,300 vs DAL

The Dragons defense is not as bad as they were in Week 1 versus the Defenders, and they aren’t as good as they were last week versus the Vipers, they are somewhere in the middle and well worth spending the $3,300.

Missed Tackle | NY Guardians $4,000 @ STL

The Battlehawks are one of the better teams in the league and the Guardians are riding their Week 1 performance against the Vipers to lead everyone to believe they are a good defense. They won’t have an answer for Ta’amu, just like they didn’t have an answer for Cardale Jones last week.
