Fantasy Football Week 14 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

It’s playoff time in most fantasy football leagues, and before I get into my Week 14 streamers let’s look back to Week 13’s results (Yahoo! PPR scoring, four points per passing touchdown).

Quarterback: Dak Prescott-14.12 points
Tight End: Gerald Everett-1.7 points
Team Defense: Seattle Seahawks-16 points

Now, for Week 14, here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers.

Quarterback: Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

Allen completed 18 of 33 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns (with two interceptions), along with nine carries for 135 yards, in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. He has accounted for multiple touchdowns in both games since returning from an elbow injury, with 234 total rushing yards and just over 57 combined fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring, four points per passing touchdown). In ESPN leagues, he has finished as QB4 (Week 12) and QB2 (Week 13) the last two weeks.

Allen missed Week 10 against the New York Jets, but Matt Barkley started under center for the Bills and threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets are in the middle of the pack against quarterbacks (ESPN scoring), but they have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in nine of 12 games this season. They’ve allowed over 280 yards and multiple touchdowns through the air in back-to-back games, and three quarterbacks have topped 40 rushing yards against them this year.

For those who have streamed quarterbacks right on to the playoffs, Allen has emerged at just the right time. He’s a must start in two-quarterback or super-flex leagues for Week 14, and a third straight top-five finish at the position can’t be ruled out.

Others To Consider: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs; Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints; Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles; Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns vs. Carolina Panthers, Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Thursday night)

Tight End: Ian Thomas, Carolina Panthers at Cleveland Browns

Thomas set season highs across the board in Week 13, with five catches (on five targets) for 46 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Greg Olsen suffered another foot injury in the game, and he’s expected to miss the rest of the season. In the three full games Olsen missed earlier in the season, Thomas averaged 4.7 targets, 2.7 receptions and 22.7 yards per game. Over the last two of those, he averaged 5.5 targets, three catches and 29 yards per game with at least 5.0 PPR points in both.

In Week 14, Thomas gets a nice matchup to go with increased opportunity. The Cleveland Browns have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring), including the most receptions allowed to the position for the season and a touchdown allowed to the position in three of their last four games.

It doesn’t take much for a tight end to become viable, but Thomas combines more opportunities and good matchup in Week 14 to become a pretty easy No. 1 tight end streamer for the week.

Others To Consider: C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals at Los Angeles Chargers; Jonnu Smith, Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Thursday night); Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets; Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints

Team Defense: Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

The Bills defense has three sacks in three straight games now, with an interception in four straight games. Going back a little further, they’ve allowed 21 or less points with multiple sacks in four of their last five games.

Back in Week 10, the Bills held the New York Jets to 10 points with three sacks and two interceptions of Josh McCown. Sam Darnold (foot) may return this week, but despite missing the last three games he’s still leading the NFL in interceptions with 14. A Jets’ quarterback has been sacked multiple times and/or thrown an interception in 10 of 12 games this season (both nine times).

Buffalo’s defense has been under the radar all season, as reflected in their fantasy ownership rates. In a week filled with potentially heavily owned options and far more speculative streamers, the Bills are a pretty easy choice as my top streaming defense for Week 14.
