NBA Fanduel Lineup 2/3/15 **updated lineup**

Five game slate tonight, and with just a quick glance at some of the games, I can already tell it’s going to be hard to fill my Top 10 tonight. Every position is extremely shallow. I feel like I’m just going to take the top player at every position, so I’m going to skip Today’s Top 10 Plays.

You don’t need me to tell you that Curry and Cousins are good plays, and I don’t want to insult your intelligence. So we’ll go straight to the Dunks and Passes tonight, and then I’ll leave you with my lineup, which I’ll name that segment “Tonight’s Starting 9”

Dunks

  • PG Marcus Smart He isn’t a game changer by any means, and I wouldn’t even be mentioning him if it weren’t for the small slate of games. He has had 20+ FDP in 3 of his last 4 and he is getting 25-30 minutes. Couple that with a good matchup with the Knicks and his $4400 price tag, he becomes a viable play.
  • PG Langston Galloway Where Marcus Smart above gets most of his FDP from assists, Galloway gets his from scoring. As a point guard, this isn’t always a great thing, but again, on a small slate, there isn’t much to go on.
  • SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope His last outing he got 48 FDP, but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that’ll be his best game of the season, considering his last 3 games he got 43.9….combined! If you need a punt at a cheap price, KCP is your man.
  • SG Marcus Thornton Just above minimum salary Thornton could be a decent play on a night like tonight. He isn’t going to “wow” you with anything, but he could get you 15-20 FDP at $3800.
  • SF Robert Covington **DUNK OF THE NIGHT** I had him here on the Dunk list last night as well, and he didn’t disappoint, scoring 41 FDP. His price remains sub 6K, but it’s not going to last long at that price. Play him while you can.
  • SF Luc Richard Mbah a M…. That how his name shows up on my Fanduel app on iPhone, so I’m just gonna go with it. Has scored mid 20’s FDP his last 4, and is still sub 5K at $4,700. If he continues to do that, and stay relatively cheap, I’ll put him in my Dunk column more often, and maybe then I’ll learn how to spell his name.
  • PF Jason Smith He continues to be viable at $4600, though nothing to write home about, he can get you 18-22 FDP with potential of a 30 point night.
  • PF Brandon Bass I really wanted to Nerlens Noel here again tonight, but with this short slate, he can’t be considered value, he is more of a second tier guy. Brandon Bass a decent option as long as he gets the minutes, which isn’t a lock. Good value at $5300 with a potential 30 FDP night.

PASSES

SF Gordon Hayward It’s no secret I’m not a fan of Gordon. Nothing against him as a player, but it just seems that just when I start to like him, I put him in my lineup, he goes out and sucks. Well, I found myself looking at his game log, and I started to think I was going to put him in my lineup, so that’s why I’m passing on him. No real statical reason for it, so if you take him, I won’t hold it against you.

SF Rudy Gay Ok so I’ve put 2 of the top 3 SF’s on my list, chances are you’re going to have to take one of them, but I’m putting Gay here anyway. Golden State is a tough defense, and I’m always leery taking anyone versus them, unless it’s a dominate big man. Not to mention he had only 9 FDP against them last time.

That’s really it for the “Dunks and Passes” tonight. Not much to go on with only 5 games. As I’m finishing up this post, the late games on Monday are finishing up, and my lineup didn’t fare so well. It looked promising early on, but my lineup couldn’t hold on. I wish I had known that Durant wasn’t going to play, or I would have had him as my number one play last night. You pretty much had to have him to place last night.

As I’ve mentioned before, on short game slates, my strategy is to take 1 or 2, or in this case 3 of the best players and build down. Curry, Cousins, and Melo, IMO, are the best 3 players tonight, so I’m rolling with them.

Feel free to comment with questions, or if you want to post your own lineup. I’m trying to get a little more user interaction. I want to hear what everyone thinks.

I’m working on getting a guest blogger to post his thoughts, and different points of view. He also does Draft Kings as well as Fanduel. Look for his posts coming soon.

** update**
With the uncertainty of Napier and his minutes, I made 3 changes. Down grade Noel to Bass, down grade Wes Mathews to Afflalo, and upgrade Napier to Marcus Smart. You can also go Avert Bradely instead of Afflalo, but check Bradely’s status.

…AND ONE LAST ALTERNATIVE
I was able to get one mode stud into that lineup with some contributing players around them. This would be a more GPP friendly lineup. .
