2019 Rookie Draft Projection | Late First/Early Second

Bottom Line

Mims was one of the biggest winners at the combine. His 40 time of 4.38 was unexpected and his 3-cone was the best time of the entire combine. He scored 28 TDs on a mere 186 catches during his career at Baylor, which also included two 1,000-yard seasons. Mims profiles as an X receiver in the NFL, but with the speed he showed at the combine, he can really play any of the receiver positions.

Related Articles

Mims falls firmly in the “second-tier” of wide receiver prospects in this class, grouped with guys like Jalen Reagor, Henry Ruggs and Justin Jefferson. He plays physical and is not afraid to block when asked to do so — be it in the run game or on screen-plays to his side. It’s that blocking that will get him on the field as a rookie, but he needs to expand his route-tree before he can truly become a week-in-week-out starter in fantasy.
