Pitching
Jared Eickhoff $7,900 vs. SD
Eickhoff was one of the lone bright spots for the Phillies last year, as he finished the year with a 2.65 ERA and 49 K’s in 51 innings pitched. Eickhoff was an excellent fantasy pitcher as he averaged almost a strikeout/inning and had a WHIP of just over 1.00. San Diego’s offense has been terrible this year, as they couldn’t even manage to score a single run in the Dodgers’ series and were just shut out last night against Charlie Morton in Philly. The best part of this matchup is the plethora of right-handed bats the Padres have(they have just 1 lefty in their lineup), Eickhoff has an excellent matchup tonight at home.
Carlos Rodon $9,500 vs. MIN
The White Sox have something special in Rodon, a lefty-specialist with ace upside. Rodon finished last season with a 9-6 record, despite having the worst offense in the American League. Rodon finished the year off with a 3.75 ERA and an impressive 1K/inning last year as a rookie. The Twins offense is by far the worst in all of baseball, it’s no surprise they are 0-7 to start the season, Minnesota has struck out a combined 79 times this season(4th most in the league) Especially important on FanDuel, so it bars worth mentioning, Rodon has a great chance of grabbing the win against Phil Hughes and the Twins at home.
Sneaky GPP Play: Colin Rea
Lineup
Corey Seager $3,900 vs. ARI
The whole Dodgers’ team has crushed De La Rosa in the past, as the Dodger’s team batting average against him is .402! (33 for 82 combined) The Dodgers lead the MLB in hits and are 4th in the majors is runs scored on the young season. Seager is batting .407 against righties this year and is just $3,900 tonight taking on Rubby De La Rosa who has a 12.42 ERA so far in 2 appearances on the season.
Joc Pederson $3,600 vs. ARI
Pederson looked like a future Hall-of-Famer at the start last year, hitting 21 home runs before the All-star break in his rookie season. Pederson is only used in the Dodger’s lineup against right-handed pitching for his home run potential. Pederson has home run potential. Pederson has home run potential every time he steps into the batter’s box, excellent GPP upside for just $3,600 tonight with a Dodger’s stack.
Kolten Wong $3,700 vs. MIL (Just ruled not starting)
Looking for a low-owned stack that I don’t think anybody will be on? St. Louis Cardinals. Chase Anderson takes the hill for the Brewers, and despite having an excellent outing in his first start of the season, Anderson had a 4.30 ERA in 2015, and really struggled against one team in particular, the Cardinals. The Cardinals have a career .400 OBP against Anderson over his career and can score runs in bunches. Wong should get plenty of opportunities for hits and runs at the top of the order tonight.
Josh Donaldson $4,800 vs. NYY
The Blue Jays were the default cash game stack almost every single night last year, as they had one of the best offenses in recent memory. The Blue Jays have been the high-powered offense we saw last year, but their whole lineup top to bottom can hit home runs no matter who they’re facing. Pineda really struggled in his first outing of the season, giving up 3 home runs, and 6 earned runs in just 5 innings pitched. They haven’t been producing much this season, but with the talent and power hitting, this lineup is always a viable stack, especially in right-friendly Rogers’ Centre.
Trevor Brown $2,800 @ COL
Saw the news that Posey was out last night and immediately inserted Brown into all of our cash lineups. Brown homered twice in the win at Coor’s last night, posting incredible value with 32 points for $2,200. If Posey is out again tonight, Brown will be in all of our lineups.
