Pitching

Madison Bumgarner $12,500 @ SDmlb sleepers 5/17

Taking pitchers against San Diego has been the chalk all season long, and for good reason. Padres’ hitters have struck out an NL-leading 362 times already on the season. Bumgarner has had an up and down year so far, but he’s still one of the best lefties in the game. Bumgarner’s best outing of the season actually came against San Diego on April 25th, he should get the W and rack up the K’s tonight at pitcher-friendly Petco park.

Kyle Hendricks- $8,400 @ MIL

It seems every member of the Cubs’ organization is having a career year in 2016. Hendricks comes into tonight’s match up with a 3.03 ERA, 1.01 WHIP(top tier), and he’s averaging almost 18 DK points/game on the season. Hendricks’ career BVP against Milwaukee is an excellent .141 and he has the highest Win probability on the slate going up against Chase Anderson’ and his 6.11 ERA. It’s hard to fit in 2 high-priced aces on DK, so pivoting down to Hendricks, allows for some big name bats as well.

Sneaky GPP Play- Juan Nicasio

Lineup

Miguel Sano $4,000 @ DETmlb dfs sleepers 5/17

It’s become a habit to stack your pitcher against Minnesota this year, but the Twins have actually hit righties pretty well in 2016. They scrambled together 8 runs off of Zimmerman last night and they get a treat today as Mike Pelfrey takes the bump for the Tigers. Pelfrey faced the Twins earlier in the year and gave up 5 earned runs in just 4 innings, while allowing 10 hits. After a dreadful start to the year, Sano has homered in 3 of his last 5 games, we’ll see if the hot streak continues tonight against Detroit.

Nick Castellanos $3,700 vs. MIN

What do Paul Goldschmidt, Giancarlo Stanton, and Kris Bryant all have in common? Answer: They all have less fantasy points than Nick Castellanos this year. Castellanos is making a case for an all-star selection this season as he’s batting .348 with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs. He always seems to get fantasy points in some form or another, he’s become the perfect cash game third baseman this year.

Odubel Herrera $3,500 vs. MIA

Herrera has been in my lineup almost every night for the past month, the kid just knows how to get on base, as he’s averaging  10 DK points/game on the season. Herrera can hit for power and steal bases at the top of the order, he always seems to get on base some way or another. He’s facing Wei-Yin Chen tonight, and in their matchup earlier in the year, Herrera got the better end of the stick, as he went 3 for 3. It is a lefty vs lefty matchup tonight, but $3,500 is much too cheap for someone batting .343

Adam Jones $4,400 vs. SEA

mlb sleepers 5/17

It was a ROUGH start to the season for Adam Jones, as he was hitting below .200 for a good portion of the year. Jones has come into his own again and is crushing the ball, averaging 12.6 DK points/game over his last 10 ball games. Jones is currently on a 9 game hitting streak and has an excellent matchup tonight against lefty Wade Miley. Definitely targeting Baltimore bats for cash games tonight at home against Seattle.
