Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/9

Hello all, I’m back from the dead! Just kidding, I was in Cincinnati for the past week to see family and go to a music festival. I still followed my fantasy baseball keeper team pretty religiously, but it was nice to take a quick breather from Fanduel! Let’s get back to the grind with my Tuesday picks and advice!

Pitchers

Corey Kluber, CLE – $11,100

There are a lot of good pitching options tonight, but you would be silly not to take Kluber in cash games. You have to love the Indians ace’s longevity, as he’s gone at least eight innings in four of his last five starts. And the K potential goes without saying, but it is especially tantalizing tonight against a righty heavy Seattle Mariners lineup. Kluber’s ERA is more than a point lower at home, and he is undoubtedly my top pitcher of the night even at his price tag.

James Shields, SD – $9,500

Related Articles

If you’re looking at an ace but want some salary relief to fit some attractive bats into your lineup, look no further than Shields matching up with the Braves on Tuesday night. Turner Field is a pretty large park, and even though Big Game James has the propensity to give up the long ball, the Braves have the second fewest home runs as a team in the majors with 37 total. Atlanta has pretty good discipline at the plate, but I think Shields will have his A-game tonight and will make a lot of the Braves hitters look silly. Look for 7+ innings, 2 ER or fewer, and likely a healthy amount of strikeouts from the Padres ace tonight.

Other options: Sonny Gray (OAK), Francisco Liriano (PIT), Nathan Karns (TB)

Hitters

Yadier Molina, C (STL) – $2,900

Despite slashing worse against lefties thus far this season, Jorge de la Rosa is certainly no Kershaw and I expect Yadi to have a nice night at the plate at Coors Field tonight even if it’s from lower in the order. His power has been noticeably absent, but the Cardinals should have a lot of base-runners on tonight and hopefully Molina can join in on the fun. Plus, he’s not going to break the bank if you have an ace in your lineup.

Carlos Correa, SS (HOU) – $2,200

At minimum price, this is almost a no-brainer at the horribly shallow SS position. Carlos Rodon will be a risky wild card for the near future, and Correa has the platoon advantage. Hopefully the young Astro will get bumped up in the lineup from batting sixth, but even then, I still like him a lot tonight. And at $2,200, all he really has to get you is a point or two to hit value for your cash game lineup.

Adam Jones, OF (BAL) – $3,400

Jones has absolutely owned lefties this year, with a .371 average to go along with two doubles and two homers in 35 at bats. Red Sox rookie Eduardo Rodriguez has been stellar thus far in his first two big league starts, but regression is coming and it could begin as early as tonight. Jones is criminally cheap for how elite he is, and he’s found his power stroke in June which is great news. He’s still affordable with an ace in your lineup, so give him a hard look tonight!

Other options: Neil Walker – 2B (PIT), Anthony Rizzo – 1B (CHC), Jake Lamb – 3B (ARI), Matt Kemp – OF (SD)
