DFS NFL FanDuel GPP Plays Week 9 11/5/16

Welcome to the Week 9 edition of the NFL DFS FanDuel GPP plays. This article will focus on the main slate on FanDuel, which features 11 games this week. Just as a reminder, this article is not meant to be an actual FanDuel GPP lineup, but rather an article focusing on some good stand alone options for your GPP lineup. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite GPP options for Week 9.

NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 9

DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel GPP Play of the Day

Darren Sproles (PHI) @ NYG $4,800

Doug Pederson said that he would consider using Darren Sproles as the Eagles’ starting running back. If that’s the case, Sproles is in a good spot to have a huge game in Week 9. Also, he is not game flow dependent since he is a good pass catching back.

Quarterbacks

Drew Brees (NO) @ SF $8,600

I honestly think that Drew Brees will not be that popular this week and can be confidently used in cash games and GPP contests. Brees has been spectacular this season with the second-most FanDuel points scored for quarterbacks this season. He should have no problem tearing apart the 49ers defense and the pace of the game makes his upside even greater this week.
Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) @ BAL $7,500

Ben Roethlisberger is likely to return to action in Week 9 after sitting out a couple of games with an injury. Big Ben big time upside every week and he’s likely to be low owned in GPPs against the Ravens, who are average at best against the pass.

Running Backs

Jonathan Stewart (CAR) @ LA $6,400

It appears that the Panthers are being conservative with Cam Newton in the running game, since they have allowed Jonathan Stewart to score four touchdowns inside of the two yard line in their past two games. Also, he is getting a higher volume with 34 carries in the past two games. Stewart is a solid value option against the Rams this week, who are middle of the pack against the run at best.

Terrance West (BAL) vs. PIT $6,400

Terrance West has likely fallen off a lot of people’s radar since the Ravens were on the bye last week and he had a bad performance in Week 7. However, he is still the lead back Ravens and has seen a steady volume of touches when the Ravens remain in the game. If the Ravens can keep pace with the Steelers, West could be a sneaky GPP play against the Steelers, who have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to running backs this season.

Wide Receivers

Allen Robinson (JAC) @ KC  $6,700

Allen Robinson has had a bad few games in a row, but he is more than capable of bouncing back in a big way. At this salary he is a great buy low candidate for GPP contests against the Chiefs, who have not been good against the pass this season. The Chiefs have allowed eight passing touchdowns to wide receivers in 2016.
Terrelle Pryor (CLE) vs. DAL $7,000

Terrelle Pryor has been the clear leading receiver for the Browns in 2016 averaging 9.5 targets per game. Pryor will likely fly under the radar in DFS lineups this week since he plays for the Browns and Corey Coleman is returning. Even with the return of Coleman, Pryor should still remain the leading receiver for the Browns and he has a decent matchup against the Cowboys who are middle of the pack against wide receivers this season.
Dez Bryant (DAL) @ CLE $7,800
On the opposite side, Dez Bryant is a solid GPP option as well. Bryant is an elite receiver priced as a mid-tier option and provides plenty of upside against the Browns this week, who have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to wide receivers this season.

Tight Ends

Greg Olsen (CAR) @ SF $7,500

Greg Olsen had a down game in Week 8 against the Cardinals. However, it was a terrible matchup and the game flow did not favor Olsen at all. Olsen could bounce back in a huge way against the 49ers this week, and he probably will be low owned as well.

Defense

Vikings (MIN) vs. DET $5,300

Recency bias plays seems to play a huge role in ownership percentages and I believe the Vikings’ defense will be way under owned this week after looking awful in a national televised game against the Bears. The Vikings still have one of the best defensive units in the league and they return home in Week 9 against the Lions.
