2016 Fantasy Football: Sit/Start Thanksgiving Edition

In this special sit/start edition I am only looking at guys playing on Thanksgiving, so this will be a little different than my usual article. Like many people I will be spending time with my family this holiday so I am doing a real quick sit/start for Thursday’s game and will do another sit/start article for the rest of the weekend by Saturday. This will allow me plenty of time with my family and still give me time to provide everyone with the best advice I can give on this busy week. If the guy you are stressing over is not on this list feel free to hit me up at @mikekelleydlp with any additional sit/start questions you might have. Or you can join my Facebook Group, Dynasty League Problems and be a part of the conversation. Good luck this week to everyone, unless I am playing in one of my leagues.

Quarterback

START

  • Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) – I think the Steelers will look to bury the Colts as fast as possible and that means a lot of Big Ben putting the ball in the air
  • Kirk Cousins (WAS) – Cousins has been throwing the ball a lot lately and I don’t think the Cowboys can do anything to change it. I expect plenty of point from him.
  • Dak Prescott (DAL) – The Boys seem to be clicking on all cylinders. I would continue to ride a hot Dak right into the fantasy playoffs.
  • Sam Bradford (MIN) – Not a QB1, but in 2QB or super flex leagues I like him a lot for this week and next couple right through the playoffs.

SIT

  • Matthew Stafford (DET) – He should still score some points, but I think he gets limited. low QB2 numbers at best against the Vikings.
  • Scott Tolzien (IND) – Don’t even think about it. Might get some garbage points but I would not want to count on that.

Running Back

START

Related Articles
  • Le’Veon Bell (PIT) – He might clear 40 touches on Thanksgiving night. Start him with no concern.
  • Ezekiel Elliott (DAL) – Had his worst game of the year against a good Ravens defense and still scored 16.7 PPR points, enough said.
  • Robert Kelley (WAS) – Kelley is clearly the guy in Washington and any guy getting 20+ touches a game is worth a start.
  • Frank Gore (IND) – On the fence with Gore. Indy will want to use him but if the game could get out of hand early. PPR start him, standard consider not if you have options.

SIT

  • Theo Riddick (DET) – PPR might save him, but he had his worst game of the year 3 weeks ago against the same Vikes he plays on Turkey day.
  • Jerick McKinnon (MIN) – Looks like he might have taken the number 1 job back, but the run game is still lacking making him a sit this week.
  • Matt Asiata (MIN) – Asiata is too TD dependent for me. If he is kept out of the end zone it will be a bad day for anyone starting him.

Wide Receiver

START

  • Antonio Brown (TEAM) – Even on a bad day he produces points.
  • Stefon Diggs (TEAM) – If he plays he starts no questions asked.
  • T.Y. Hilton (TEAM) – More value in PPR than standard. Should still produce despite the QB situation.
  • Dez Bryant (TEAM) – Is building chemistry with Dak and it is looking good.
  • Eli Rogers (TEAM) – Should benefit from a high scoring game.
  • Adam Thielen (TEAM) – If Diggs sits he is must start with WR1 numbers coming, if Diggs plays its more risky, but should still hit flex value.
  • Pierre Garcon (TEAM) – I have been ignoring him all season and he has earned the right to be here. 18/261/1 in the last 3 weeks.
  • Jamison Crowder (TEAM) – Targets seem to be slipping, but as long as he continues to get TD’s he holds his value.

SIT

  • Golden Tate (TEAM) – Did a number on the Vikings 2 weeks ago, but did most of it in OT. Too up and down for me.
  • Donte Moncrief (TEAM) – Backup QB hurts his value and makes him unstartable for me.
  • DeSean Jackson (TEAM) – I try to avoid boom or bust guys and he is one of the biggest in that category.
  • Anquan Boldin (TEAM) – His best games came when Ebron was out, and Ebron is playing.
  • Cole Beasley (TEAM) – Now that Dez is 100%, Cole needs TD’s to have starting value. Could be used as a WR3 or flex but low end.
  • Marvin Jones (TEAM) – He has disappeared the last 4 weeks and until he is found sit him.
  • Phillip Dorsett (TEAM) – See DeSean Jackson.

Tight End

START

  • Jordan Reed (TEAM) – One of Cousin’s most reliable targets and is a must start.
  • Jason Witten (TEAM) – Last three weeks have been a revival for Witten. Keep using him as long as the Cowboys are.
  • Eric Ebron (TEAM) – Double digit PPR points every game since returning from injury. One of Stafford’s favorite targets.
  • Kyle Rudolph (TEAM) – He has been up and down lately, but I still think he is one of the better options at TE.

SIT

  • Jack Doyle (TEAM) – Since everyone has gotten healthy Doyle has slipped in production.
  • Dwayne Allen (TEAM) – Never regained his numbers since his ankle injury.
  • Ladarius Green (TEAM) – Not sure he is 100% yet, which makes him too risky to count on. Wait for a big game from him before using him.

Defense

START

  • Pittsburgh Steelers – This is not your Dad’s steel curtain, but they might look like it when the get the Colts with a back up QB.
  • Minnesota Vikings – Should be a hard fought game and the Vikes should be able to create some turnovers and sacks.

  • Indianapolis Colts – I just think the Steelers are going to do all they can to end this one in the first half.
  • Detroit Lions – Should to okay but there will be plenty of better options on Sunday.
  • Washington Redskins – Should be a high scoring game with little defense to show.
  • Dallas Cowboys – See above
