Top Pitching Options

Clayton Kershaw (DK – $13100, FD – $12300) – The best pitcher in baseball against the coldest team in baseball? Yeah, Kershaw may be 80% owned and with good reason. Kershaw has been superb this year with a 2.27 SIERA and 32.9% strikeout rate. On the other end of the spectrum, the Mets scored only one run in their last 28 innings and have really struggled lately, with a league worst 0.235 wOBA over the last 14 days. On the year, they have a 0.305 wOBA (18th), 97 wRC+ (16th), and 23.8% strikeout rate (25th) vs. LHP. Kershaw is pricey, but he should easily pay off his price and shouldn’t be faded.

Jesse Chavez (DK – $7000, FD – $8700) – While they haven’t been as cold as the Mets, the Mariners are 26th in baseball over the last 14 days with a 0.281 wOBA and 80 wRC+. And they haven’t been much better on the year vs. RHP with a 0.290 wOBA (28th), 86 wRC+ (26th), and 22.6% strikeout rate (27th). That makes Chavez a great value play on the day at only $7000 on Draftkings. Chavez has a 3.67 SIERA and 21.2% strikeout rate and should be able to take advantage of this great matchup.

Other Options: Masahiro Tanaka (NYY), Michael Wacha (STL), Ubaldo Jimenez (BAL)

Top Hitting Options

Manny Machado 3B (DK – $4800, FD – $4200) – Machado has been on fire lately, with a 0.457 wOBA and 199 wRC+ ove the last 14 days. On the year, he sports a 0.385 wOBA and 0.197 ISO vs. LHP. The Orioles opponent, John Danks, has struggled against RHH allowing a 0.398 wOBA and 12 HRs. All the Orioles RHH are in play and that especially means Machado.

David Peralta OF (DK – $4200, FD – $3900) – Another hot hitter is David Peralta who has a 0.411 wOBA and 0.239 ISO over the last 14 days, which includes crushing the ball in Petco Park and Dodger Stadium. The Diamondbacks are now back to hitter friendly Chase Field and get the Rockies and Kyle Kendrick. Kendrick has a 5.06 SIERA on the year and allows a 0.392 wOBA to LHH. He has also almost been as bad on the road as at home, with a 4.78 xFIP away vs. 5.45 xFIP at home. Peralta has a 0.357 wOBA and 0.203 ISO against RHP on the year and offer great value to get exposure to the Dbacks.

Top Value Play

Cesar Hernandez 2B/SS (DK – $2800, FD – $2900) – Cesar has been on absolute fire of late with double digit points in his last five games, snagging 6 steals over four of those games. Hernandez is one of the fastest players in baseball and A.J. Pierzynski is one of the easiest catchers in baseball to run on. As long as he’s under $3k, he’s a great option at 2B or SS.
