NBA DFS FanDuel Advice for 2/23/17

What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m back with my free NBA DFS FanDuel advice for the 2/23/16 slate of games. Thursday’s main slate will consist of a solid six-game schedule. I still see plenty of solid plays to choose from, especially on the value side. In this article, I’m going to give you guys a couple of nice plays to roll with for each position, so let’s get started!

Point Guard

Top Play: Jrue Holiday, vs. HOU ($8,100)

I’m much more excited about the potential value plays at point guard for this slate of games. Holiday should be in a good spot in a fast-paced matchup versus Houston. So far this year, the Rockets have allowed an average of 42.1 FD points per outing to opposing point guards. This season, he’s managed to average a cool 36.6 FPPG for his owners. This year, Holiday has averaged 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 32.2 minutes per game for the Pelicans.

Value Pick: Darren Collison, vs. DEN ($5,500)

Collison is easily one of the best value options for Thursday’s main slate of games! Following the DeMarcus Cousins trade, Collison will now be the focal point of Sacramento’s offense. So far this season, he’s averaging 13.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 30.6 minutes per game for the Kings. This year, the Nuggets have given up an average of 47.9 FD points per contest to opposing point guards.

Shooting Guard

Top Play: C.J. McCollum, @ ORL ($7,600)

James Harden is the obvious top play at shooting guard but I’d rather talk about your next best option instead. So far this year, McCollum has managed to average a smooth 36.8 FPPG for his loyal owners. This season, he’s averaging 23.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34.3 minutes per game for the Blazers. This year, the Magic have allowed an average of 35.3 FD points per game to opposing shooting guards.

Value Pick: Gary Harris, @ SAC ($5,200)

Denver could easily jump out to a big lead against the Kings for this slate, so Harris may see some extra court time. So far this season, he’s averaging 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.4 minutes per game for the Nuggets. This year, Harris has managed to average a solid 24.0 FPPG for his DFS owners. Over their last five games, Sacramento has given up an average of 42.4 FD points per outing to opposing shooting guards.

Small Forward

Top Play: Carmelo Anthony, @ CLE ($8,600)

If you haven’t noticed lately, LeBron James plays almost zero defense for Cleveland. I’m expecting Carmelo to be able to score at will in a big-time matchup against the King. So far this year, the Cavaliers have allowed an average of 38.7 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards. This season, Anthony has managed to average a consistent 37.8 FPPG for his owners. This year, he’s averaging 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 33.5 minutes per game for the Knicks.

Value Pick: Matt Barnes, vs. DEN ($5,200)

This article is going to be full of value picks from this contest due to the Cousins trade. The usage is going to have to be spread out among the remaining players and Barnes should be in line for a nice boost. Over their last five games, the Nuggets have allowed an average of 56.7 FD points per outing to opposing small forwards. So far this season, Barnes is averaging 7.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 25.2 minutes per game for the Kings.

Power Forward

Top Play: Blake Griffin, @ GSW ($9,700)

If you’re looking to pivot off the potential popular pick of Nikola Jokic, Griffin is the next best option. So far this year, he’s averaging 21.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 33.2 minutes per game for the Clippers. This season, Griffin has managed to average a nice 43.2 FPPG for his owners. This season, the Warriors have given up an average of 40.9 FD points per outing to opposing power forwards.

Value Pick: Willie Cauley-Stein, vs. DEN ($3,800)

Both of Sacramento’s main big men will get a major boost in minutes now and come at a dirt cheap price tag for this slate. I’ve always love to stream Cauley-Stein any time that Cousins wasn’t playing for the Kings, so he’ll be in my lineups for Thursday evening. In seven of his last ten games, he’s scored 18+ FPPG for his DFS owners. So far this year, the Nuggets have allowed an average of 40.8 FD points per outing to opposing power forwards.

Center

Top Play: Andre Drummond, vs. CHA ($8,300)

I’m not quite ready to plug Boogie in at center until seeing his first game with the Pelicans. I feel like Drummond could have a super dominant night on the glass against a lackluster Charlotte group of post players. So far this season, the Hornets have given up an average of 48.1 FD points per contest to opposing centers. This year, Drummond is averaging 14.6 points and 13.8 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game for the Pistons.

Value Pick: Kosta Koufos, vs. DEN ($3,500)

Like Cauley-Stein, Koufos is far too cheap to not warrant a look for our DFS lineups for this slate. Yes, I think he’ll be heavily owned but by playing him we’ll be able to open up space to grab some of the big stars. I’m expecting at least 25 minutes from Koufos for this slate, so I expect him to crush value.

Well, those are my NBA DFS value plays for the 2/23/16 slate of games. Hopefully, with my advice, you guys will prosper on Thursday night. Thanks for reading and good luck, everyone!
