Top Plays
Clayton Kershaw
Basically, if you’re not playing Kershaw, you’re process isn’t right in cash games. Kershaw is a huge favorite against the Padres, is the best pitcher in baseball, and is playing at home.
Mike Trout
Trout is facing Kendall Graveman who’s strikeout percentage from a season ago is the lowest on the slate (13.7%). In a day where most batters will begin the game facing a true ace, Trout has one of the easiest matchup on the slate. I’ll be doing whatever I can to get both Trout and Kershaw in my lineups on Monday.
Chris Davis
I feel like I played Davis against Marco Estrada almost every time they matched up last season. I’m probably going to do it again since Davis has huge home run potential. Even in cash games, I’ll embrace the volatility and try to capture upside with big bats like Davis.
Justin Turner/Corey Seager
Trying to search for value bats can be difficult at the beginning of the year, but if Justin Turner and Corey Seager hit in the top 3 for the Dodgers, I like their chances of hitting value at their cheap prices. They’ll face Jhoulys Chacin, who looks to be one of the weaker pitchers on this slate of aces.
Notes
Jon Gray is shaping up to be my SP2 on DraftKings. I’m also considering Kevin Gausman and Junior Guerra.
Mike Moustakas looks to be a solid value at 3rd base if he’s batting top 3 in the order.
I like both Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson as value plays who can hit home runs against Julio Teheran.
Many factors can change between the time I write this article and the time lineups lock. I’ll do my best to update the article, so checking back frequently is encouraged. You can also ask questions on Twitter @fantasbeast15. I’ll do my best to get to all of them!
