Top Plays

Noah Syndergaard

Syndergaard is expected to make his next start even though he tore his fingernail in his last game. Some expect Syndergaard to have a difficult time controlling his breaking balls because of the injury, but if we get news that he feels 100%, he’s the best option on the slate. He’ll face the Phillies who strike out 23.2% of the time, fifth highest in the majors.

Stephen Strasburg

If Syndergaard is too risky due to injury, Strasburg is the next best option. I don’t love the park, the Braves don’t strike out a ton, and Atlanta can plug a lot of lefties in the lineup. That being said, Strasburg’s talent still makes him the next best option behind Syndergaard.

Related Articles

Carlos Martinez

This is another situation where I don’t love the park, and there is blow-up risk, but the Brewers strike out 26.9% of the time. If Martinez can avoid the long ball, he has a great chance to meet value. Martinez is my favorite GPP option on the slate, and he may find his way onto my cash game roster.

Bryce Harper

Harper will face R.A. Dickey just one night after he hit two home runs off of Julio Teheran. I’ve been writing up Nationals lefties a lot lately, and outside of Daniel Murphy, they have produced. Dickey can’t strike anyone out anymore, and the Nationals have the highest OTT (see pitcher chart) on the board. You could talk me in to Daniel Murphy again as well, even though I’ve been burned by him the past two nights.

Mike Moustakas

He’s still too cheap! Until sites get around to updating his pricing, Moustakas will be my 3rd baseman. He has a great lineup spot, he’s a talented hitter, and he’s facing Andrew Cashner. What more could you want for $3,700 on DraftKings?

Chris Davis

Davis is 1-8 with a double in the series against the Reds, but he’ll face an average righty in Scott Feldman in a fantastic hitting environment. Davis again has the highest home run projection on the slate, and he’s my top overall first baseman. I don’t know if I can afford to pay up for him, but if I can, I love his upside and may even use him in cash games.

Notes

Brandon Moss is a high-upside option in the outfield against Andrew Cashner.

Manny Machado and Trey Mancini are in fantastic spots in Great American Ball Park against Scott Feldman.

Freddie Freeman is my favorite GPP play of the day at a cheap price against Stephen Strasburg.
