MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 4/29/2017
Last Updated: 4/29/2017 – 8:53 AM CT
The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!
Top Plays
Stephen Strasburg
Strasburg has pitched at least seven innings in each start this season while striking out at least eight in three straight games. He has an elite strikeout rate, even against lefties. He’s the biggest favorite of the day, and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart). The Mets touched up Max Scherzer on Friday night, but I’m expecting Strasburg to dominate the Mets lineup.
Brandon McCarthy
McCarthy is the second largest favorite on the day and ties Strasburg for the lowest OTT. He’ll face the Phillies in Dodgers Stadium. I love Dodgers pitchers and they are especially appealing when a weak lineup takes a big park hit from their home park. The knock on McCarthy to start the year was concerns over his pitch count, but he’s thrown at least 86 pitches in three straight starts.
Francisco Liriano
Liriano is my favorite GPP target of the day. He owns a 53.8% strikeout percentage (small sample size, I get it) against lefties this season. The Rays strikeout 28.0% of the time against southpaws this season, worst in the major leagues. After the Rays destroyed Liriano for -11.5 DraftKings points in just 1/3 of an inning in his first start of the year, few people will want to roster him, making him a perfect GPP candidate.
Freddie Freeman
Freeman has another great matchup in Miller Park against Jimmy Nelson. Nelson has a large platoon split and has given up a .456 slugging percentage against lefties at home in his career. I’m expecting another big night from Freeman.
Cubs Hitters
This is more of a GPP play since they are facing a knuckleballer in Steven Wright, but I love the Cubs bats today. I will have some cash game exposure where the prices are right, but will be all over the Cubs in GPPs. The Cubs have the highest team total on the slate. My favorite Cubs are Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, and Kyle Schwarber in that order.
Andrew Benintendi
Benintendi is too cheap for his price and matchup. He’ll likely bat second and face John Lackey. The Red Sox have a high team total and are my second favorite offense today. For only a $3,900 price tag on DraftKings, it will be hard for me to pass on this young star.
Notes
Michael Fulmer makes for a solid SP2 and great GPP option today.
The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
