MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 5/1/2017

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!
Top Plays
Clayton Kershaw
Last time out, Kershaw faced the Giants in AT&T Park and put up 27.6 DK points. He’s averaging 31.6 DK points per game outside of Coors Field, and is once again, the clear top option. His price has come down $400 on DraftKings since his last start, making him slightly easier to fit in. I’m locking Kershaw into my cash game lineups, and the majority of my tournaments lineups will feature him as well.
Michael Wacha
Wacha will face the strikeout-prone Brewers in Busch Stadium. The Brewers strikeout 25.9% of the time against righties and will likely be without Ryan Braun in this game. The Brewers have had success with the long ball this year, but Busch Stadium limits home runs. Wacha is a fairly safe cash game option on DraftKings.
Luis Severino
Severino is fourth in the league in strikeout percentage, only behind Chris Sale, Jacob deGrom, and Danny Salazar. He has at least 28.8 DK points in each of his last three starts, and is only $8,000 on DraftKings. Against righties, the Blue Jays strike out 22.9% of the time and have the third worst WRC+. Severino makes for an intriguing SP2 in tournaments and is a potential cash play at his price.
Mets Lefties
Julio Teheran is a solid pitcher against right-handed batters, but struggles against lefties. In his career, he’s given up just a .254 wOBA against righties, while yielding a .343 wOBA against lefties. Teheran strikes out 25.2% of righties, but only 16.6% of lefties. He gives up just .74 HR/9 against righties compared to a 1.39 HR/9 against lefties. The Mets top four in the order will likely bat left handed, meaning Michael Conforto, Asdrubal Cabrera, Neil Walker and Jay Bruce are all in consideration for cash games, and make for a solid GPP stack.
Cubs
The Cubs are my favorite GPP stack and I’ll have exposure to them in cash games as well. While it may seem a bit risky to pick on Vincent Velasquez, he’s given up 1.44 and 2.11 HR/9 in 2016 and 2017 respectfully. The Cubs have a ton of power, and to top it all off, there is a strong wind blowing out to center to help fly balls clear the fence. I’ll be loading up on Cubs bats in both tournaments and cash games if the wind holds.
Notes
Lance McCullers is the definition of a tournament play. He’s scored 25+ DK points three times and scored fewer than seven DK points twice. The good news is all three 25+ point games were at home, where he’ll face the Rangers on Monday.
As of 7:00 AM CT, every single batter in my cash game lineup is either a Mets lefty or a Cub.
