MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 5/24/2017

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!
Top Plays
Chris Sale
The only knock on Sale in this matchup is the ballpark. Everything else is perfect. Sale has a 38.6% strikeout rate, and the Rangers strike out 24.8% of the time (4th highest) against lefties. The Rangers are fifth worst in the league in wRC+ against lefties as well. Sale is the biggest favorite on the slate and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart). He has double-digit strikeouts in eight straight games. His worst start of the year scored 24.7 DK points, and he’s averaging 32.2 DK points per game. He’s priced at $13,500 on DraftKings, but he’s worth every dollar.
Rich Hill
Hill is one of my favorite GPP plays each time he starts. If I knew he would throw 100 pitches, I’d consider him for cash games, but he’s been limited in his starts this year. The Cardinals strike out 22.2% of the time against lefties, tenth highest in the league. Their wRC+ is also in the bottom third of the league against lefties. Hill is a heavy favorite, and is tied for the second lowest OTT on the slate.
Kyle Hendrics
Hendricks will face the Giants in Wrigley Field. Like always, the wind can determine whether this is a good play. As long as the wind isn’t blowing out, Hendricks is my favorite SP2 on DraftKings for cash games. While the Giants don’t strike out often against righties, they have the worst wRC+ at just 72. Hendricks is a safe play for cash games, but may not have the strikeout upside necessary for tournaments.
Matt Holliday/Yankees
The Yankees are tied for the highest team run total on the slate and will face Jason Hammel. Hammel’s strikeout rate is down this year, and his home run rate remains fairly high. Matt Holliday is too cheap at $3,800 on DraftKings, making him a solid cash game option. I’m also considering Gary Sanchez and Starlin Castro for cash games while Aaron Judge makes a fantastic tournament play.
Mike Moustakas
Luis Severino is a good pitcher, but Yankee Stadium is a great park for lefty power. Moustakas is always underpriced, and today is no exception. He’ll likely bat second and have the platoon advantage against Severino. At $3,800, Moustakas has enough value for cash games and should be low-owned in tournaments.
Punts
My favorite pair on DraftKings is still Chris Sale and Kyle Hendricks, so we’ll need to punt a few position. Here are my favorite punts:
C – Austin Hedges – $2,500
1B – Luis Valbuena – $3,200
2B – Yangervis Solarte – $2,800
3B – David Freese – $3,100
OF – Manuel Margot – $2,800
