MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 6/12/2017

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!
Top Plays
Stephen Strasburg
Strasburg will face the Braves in Nationals Park. He’s the biggest favorite on the slate, has the second highest strikeout percentage, and has the lowest OTT (see pitcher chart). He’s the most expensive pitcher on the slate, but should be worth the price. The Braves are in the bottom third in wRC+ against righties, and even though they don’t strike out often, Strasburg has double-digit strikeouts against them in both starts this year, recording more than 30 DK points in each outing.
Jacob deGrom
I’m hesitant to use deGrom in cash games against the Cubs, even with the depressed price, but he’s a great tournament option. He’s given up 15 earned runs in his last two starts, so I think he’ll go under owned considering the slate. The Cubs are just 24th in the league in wRC+ against right-handed pitching and will take a park hit traveling to Citi Field. DeGrom has the highest strikeout percentage on the slate, and the Cubs strike out 22.2% of the time against righties. The Cubs offense can explode at any time, but deGrom has enough going for him to make him my favorite tournament pitcher on the slate.
Orioles Bats
The Orioles will face Mike Pelfrey in Guaranteed Rate Field. Pelfrey has a low strikeout rate and a high SIERA. He’s not a good pitcher and easy to stack against. I love the Orioles today due to their prices on DraftKings. Chris Davis is $4,300, Manny Machado is $4,200, Adam Jones is $3,800, Mark Trumbo is $3,700, and if you need a punt, J.J. Hardy is just $2,400. All of these players are too cheap for their talent, park and matchup, and I’m considering all of them for cash games. The Orioles are also my favorite stack for tournaments.
Red Sox Bats
It’s hard to ignore a team when they have a team run total of six and are playing outside of Coors Field. Mookie Betts is my favorite play from this game and is underpriced on DraftKings. I’m having a hard time deciding between Chris Davis and Hanley Ramirez for my cash game first baseman, and it may just come down to price. Ramirez is just $3,600 on DraftKings. For tournaments, I like Andrew Benintendi, although I think his price is too high for cash games. The Red Sox are my second favorite stack for tournaments, but you will need to find a way to save if you want a full stack.
Bryce Harper
Harper is the top overall play today going against Mike Foltynewicz and is locked into my cash game lineup. He’ll have the platoon advantage against Foltynewicz and has the second highest home run projection on the slate behind Chris Davis.
Notes
Rick Porcello is the second highest favorite on the slate but still has an OTT of four. I think he’ll be over owned because he’s a heavy favorite, but the Red Sox are favored due to their offense, not Porcello.
The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
